The United States is DEAD, get over it
DEAD, DEAD, DEAD, a DUer would have a clue. We no longer are united or have any autonomy that would make states an actual entity. We have no representation in the corporate control federal government and our children's grandchildren will be paying on fraudulent debt if we oblige any part of this fraud thrust into our "used to be" has been of a country.

No need to be cute, just get off the bus, it's all over and this is it's last stop

4. Which countries do you mean?
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 05:13 AM by gandalf
Germany and Italy had to lose a war. Facism was not ended by grass roots there.

In Spain, it took about 40 years to get rid of Franco (that's how long he lived after he became dictator).

6. Roughly 50,000,000 died in Europe before Hitler was dead
That's what it took last time to wipe out an incarnation of corporatism. Look where it's in danger of popping up again.

9. The media
The media is not accountable, and it has brain washed 59,000,000 people. Fox, CNN, MSN, etc. They sold us down the line. Change the media so they can report the truth and just maybe we might get the country up and running again.
But anyone who opposes the system suffers consequences. Like Dan Rather, and others.

20. Not 59,000,000. That much is almost certain.
A 5% swing is what was pre-engineered at the very LEAST, a 10% swing is more likely.

Manual and Electronic disenfranchisement techniques have been honed and tested, from under-supporting Democratic precincts with voting machines to Bushevik Vacation-home double voting and so much more. On the electronic side we havethe many reports of Kerry votes stubbornly casting electronically for Bush (but, oddly, no reports of Bush votes "spontaneously" registering for Kerry), Bushevik bacvkdoors and tabulation sheet malfeasance, not to mention whatever they did to the optical scanner or their tab sheets to make them sing for the Emperor Tiberisu Bunnypants.

Not 59,000,000, of that you can be dead-on certain.

"They who cast the votes decide nothing, they who count the votes decide everything."
--Joe Stalin, the Bush of the Soviet Union (but not as kind and gentle as our Fearless Fuhrer)

5. The cold blunt truth
Really by my reckoning do we really need to be a United States?

You know you don't have to take this so literal, just suppose. What would be the possibilities. Seems to me lately this thing, the "US" is more about obligation and debt and not much else.

I agree this could have been put in the lounge, hit the alert button if it too terrible thing for you to be thinking, I am just supposing myself

7. yeah do that... run
sticking your head into the sand will make it much easier to feck yer frigging posterior.

le's have a look

at the other oppressive regimes

napoleon I ousted by foreign force (coalition/prussians)
louis napoleon III ousted by foreign force (prussnias)
wilhelm II ousted by foreign force (entente WW1)
mussolini ousted by foreign force (allies ww2)
hitler ousted by foreign force (allies ww2)
stalin ousted by natural dead regime prolonged though
franco ousted by natural dead regime not prolonged

doesn't bode well for domestic resistance but perhaps if you manage to capture the news stations you can call for an insurrection.

anyhow the longer you wait the better will the administration be entrenched, the army will bleed out as will national guard and their ranks will be replaced with wingnut crusaders (because sane and concious people don't join this time) so the oppresive power will just increase.

but hey you dont wanna hear this so go over to the lounge while the adm feckes you over AGAIN, hide in your reality bubble and deny present facts as 3co

move up. Always been like this and I think it always will be. We are led by the second rate and we are the ones putting them into power so guess we can blame out self.

11. It has happened here before and it was Bloody
Rent the movie "Matewan" or google West Virginia Coal wars, or "Mother Jones". Big money coal barons buying up political power to the point they turned the people into their own virtual economic slaves. Un-limited power for the rich, leaving the land an ecological disaster, workers used up and tossed aside. Sounds familiar.

It took several uprisings before the situation eventually improved for coal miners. It was never a job with a future.

I remember deer hunting as a kid in W.VA. with an old borrowed lever action rifle. My uncle told me "yea, that rifle shot more than a few 'scabs'". It made an impression.

Now we are taking entire mountain tops off and shoving them into nearby valleys filling them up. Can you say mudslide, floods, and elimination of habitat?

What was that quote about being "doomed to re-live history".

13. Mother Jones
There's a mag that have adopted that name, and I'll be damned if it isn't the very same story.

It's a progressive mag - very good journalism.

But at the same time, there seems to be hope that this *can* get better.

14. As long as there are still Americans
who understand and believe in the principels this nation was founded on, than the United States is not dead. Struggling I'll grant you, but this kind of defeatism isn't warrented.

18. Midterms could bring some sanity if we can manage a majority in the House
or in the Senate. That's the beauty of participatory democracy. I would emphasize 'participatory'. We have to stay in the game to effect the change we seek and not allow ourselves to become discouraged by these setbacks. It can get a lot worse if we turn our backs and walk away.

are restored. How that will happen, I don't know.
