It's time for Democrats to walk away from the queers

And the blacks, too. They bring us down and they don't make big campaign contributions.

Women? Well, they didn't vote Democratic heavily enough. In fact, about half voted Republican this last election. Clearly, women don't deserve the protection of the Democratic party.

Immigrants are hurting us too. They don't make campaign contributions and they often make red state voters and suburbanites uncomfortable. They are dragging us down. Let's get rid of them.

We cannot win elections as long as we're seen as the party of elitists, so of course we're also going to have to cut the academics loose.

We lost the last election in large part because of the view that Democrats are a party of the coasts, so sorry, California and New England and New York, you're all going to have to fare on your own now.

What other controversial groups should we "let go" in order to shrink and moderate our way to victory? It's a proven strategy, right? I mean, the annals of history are bursting with success stories of political parties that have abandoned multiple constituencies to cave to the bigotry of the opposition and then soared into an enduring majority!

The fight against racism is also. So are reproductive rights. So is Social Security and Medicare. Teachers and professors are supported by a majority of Americans.

I realize that is sarcasm. We should say how will this or that get us votes? As far as so called gay issues go. The problem is the in your face attitude that has taken over many issues. Are we trying to win elections and change minds or are we trying to piss off the world. Example: Chevy Chase says "FU Mr. Bush" Does that get votes?
Example: A thread called for DU members to decorate manger scenes with pink fabric, "Three Gay Wise Men". Does that get votes?
