Bush wants to do to Social Security what he did to Iraq
For Iraq, Bush chose the radical approach of invasion instead of the moderate approach of letting the weapons inspectors continue their work.

For Social Security, Bush now chooses a radical approach of privatization and drastic benefits reductions, instead of the moderate approach of raising the cap so people with greater incomes pay in more to the Social Security fund.

I wrote a blog article on this subject:

planet...the democrats are going along, he is receiving no serious opposition in any of the crazed ideas that His Deranged Highness has.

2. that thread title is GREAT
No need to elaborate, just let it sink in ......

Bush is King Midas in reverse, and yes, everything he touches goes up in flames.

So it would be nice if there would be something left standing after he gets thrown in jail and his presidency is over.

3. I wish to hell he would stop trying to fix what is NOT broken

and start fixing what IS!!

I keep asking myself this question, "When is the last time the government did anything to benefit you, personally?" And I guess it was 1992 when Bill Clinton passed the Family Leave Act. Although I have never personally benefited from it, it seems as though it was just a GOOD THING to do for the TAXPAYERS of this country, the little guys who do not get unlimited leave time.

Since he left office, my more frequent question has become, "How is the government going to SCREW us OVER this week?"

Because it used to be that they just weren't responsive to our needs and tended to ignore us completely in favor of their corporate buddies until election time when suddenly we mattered again.

Now it's so much worse. They don't want to just ignore us, they actually WANT TO HARM US.

I can't get the Declaration of Independence off my mind lately. If the government is broken, it is our patriot duty to FIX IT.

4. In the days of President Clinton, when the corparate interest
was consistently put first, it was hard to imagine how awful the Republican alternative could be.
