Ok, * is going to his supposed strength on Sunday night |
|
He'll probably talk sparingly about the situation in Iraq. I believe he'll stick to his guns on his supposed strength on dealing with the larger war on terrorism. If he says anything surprising on Sunday, I think it will be something about cornering all of the terrorists in Iraq itself. Regardless, expect him to say 'terror' as much as humanly possible.
But the question is whether or not the American public as a majority will continue to stand behind him anymore. With the economy clearly not really helping anyone but the wealthiest of us, he has no real defense other than "A lot of signs are pointing to a recovery," followed by "Obviously we have a lot of work to do." His triumph in Iraq has clearly been absolutely ruined. The great moment on the air craft carrier now makes him look like a complete asshole. He is clearly frowned on in terms of his environmental progress. His most conservative judges have failed to get through the congress. It looks as if Karl Rove even discouraged one or more Supreme Court Justices from retiring to avoid any further political fallout. The Judge issue has visibly upset a good portion of his base too.
So he'll stick with his 'strength.' Terror. Terror. Terror. Terror. More terror.
Will it work in the long run?
Unlike a lot of posters on this board, I have faith in the American people to see a loser when they see one. They'll sell their chips back and look for a new game.

he`s going to beg for money..there is no chance he`s going to get the congress to pass 70 billion, esp after the jobless numbers today. he`ll blame the un for not helping us...it`s always someone else`s fault. we all know people like that don`t we? but we didn`t think they`d ever become president.....

7. It'll be the Fear Factor |
|
He'll talk about the weapons of mass destruction "programs" that were swimming in Saddam's head. He will try to connect the occupation of Iraq with the larger "War on Terror". And so on and so on...
