1. No not on the Networks |
|
Maybe BBC America
When you can't honestly question your own beliefs you are well & truly fucked.
Maybe they'll show it on CBC Newsworld up here in Canada.

2. Not being from the US, I couldn't say... |
|
But if "Saving Private Ryan" can't be shown on Thanksgiving/Remembrance (Memorial) Day, I'd go out on a limb and say not bloody likely...

3. Doesn't matter if it is literally true or not |
|
Religion is a matter of faith. The importance of the bible doesn't lie in it's historical accuracy but it's role as a foundation text for Christianity. Fundamentalists obviously see the matter differently, since they believe every word in the particular English translation of the bible they use to be literally true. But as Martin Buber observed, a literal reading of the bible misses it's true spiritual message.

5. I've seen some quite interesting documentaries on the Sundance Channel |
|
recently - "Bush's Brain," "Uncovered" (about the 2000 election), something on GWB & his faith, and a few others.
I don't know if this BBC documentary could ever be shown on it, but if you do get the Sundance Channel, keep your eyes open for some interesting things.

7. Because Americans love it when the media mocks religion |
|
I guarantee I will cancel any channel that shows it and contact any advertisers that I will NEVER buy their products. That, oh and I will call the FCC and request cable allow us to buy individual channels, not packages so I can delete them if they are part of a package.
Merry Christmas.

8. It certainly took this man a long time to find out the New Testament |
|
was put together and collated by churchmen attending the Council of Nicea in 325.
The film could be interesting though as an account of one man's odyssey with faith and the Bible and his realization of how both are exploited by religious and political leaders - then, and now.
