So, does anyone out there have any ideas what we can do if the DLC succeeds in foisting another corporatist sellout on us as the chairman of the DNC? I personally will not support the democratic party if it moves one more inch to the right. We already are republican-lite, and I can not see why supporting a party that will not embrace any of the progressive ideals I consider important. I don't know if there are any real alternatives, though. Any thoughts on this?

If the DLC succeeds in not electing the frontrunner again (DEAN) this is what you can do. If they elect a chairman that's an insider and not in tune with the grassroots don't give money to them. Start giving money to groups like MoveOn.org and DemcoracyforAmerica.com. Start going out and volunteering for those groups and their efforts to elect progressive candidates.
The goal is to change the DNC from the ground up even if let's say Dean became chairman it would make thing easier, but we would still have an enormous amount of work to do from the outside.

3. DNC Chairman is basically a fund raiser, is he not? |

Who is going to best help us do that, especially for the 06 Senate races ?
As for your concern about getting too far to the right away from Democratic values, I agree with you. But lets face it. Another Yankee Liberal Candidate will just continue to drive the party towards the minority and we will never get the House and Senate back to get some sensibility into our life that reflects the "values" of the majority and not the Religious Wacko's.
