Please tell Time magazine Bush is NOT man of the year...link
Here's the link for the poll asking "Do you agree that Bush is man of the year?" So far 51% voted yes...sound familiar? Head on over to this link and vote NO!

1. he is screwing over the entire world and getting people killed
by the thousands. Influential? I suppose so, just like Hitler was in 1938. INFLUENTIAL DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN GOOD.

11. People think it has to be a good man. Wrong just important
People always get up tight if they do not like the man of the year. bin Laden should have been in 2001, was he? I do not recall.

3. Bush may be "influential"
but the "Person of the Year" may be the people who control Bush.

Still, Zaqawi or Hu would have been better choices.

Time deviated in 2001 from this "influential" formula by refusing to choose bin Laden, who obviously was far more influential than Rudy Guliani.

This designation is a joke.

4. Let him enjoy his Brownie Button in peace.
But keep in mind that Time's Man Of The Year for 1938, was Adolph Hitler.

8. Yeah, but the world didnt know much about Hitlers atrocities yet.
Plus Hitler at least could give a speech without a cue card.

12. Yeah, I just sent them this letter...
To the editor... I am thoroughly disgusted that you have Bush as "man of the year" on your cover. This will, IMO, surpass the shock of even your Hitler cover of 1938.

I wouldn't even mind as much if you had given him a full perspective report card, which you haven't.(as usual)
I find it ironic, that just 6 years ago, you were bloodthirsty over a blue dress and a cigar... but now that thousands of Iraqi's and Afghani's have been bombed and killed or maimed, their land has now been poisoned for 1000's of years to come with 250,000 times more nuclear waste than was caused in Nagasaki... thousands, if not millions of episodes of electronic voter fraud nationwide last month... vital election problems taking place right now in Ohio... Bush funded coup attempts, kidnappings, election interference, murders, in foreign country's such as Venezuela, Haiti, Afghanistan, and the Ukraine...anthrax letters sent to the exact 2 Democratic Senators standing in the way of the Patriot Act passing through... a large list of illogical 9-11 events that still remain unanswered... and through all of these vital ongoing events of 2004, you fail miserably to bring any attention and perspective to any of these issues in your man of the year issue. Instead we get Christian crazies arguing about the ten commandments and Merry Christmas, Desperate Housewives, and Scott Peterson. What happened to the media of old that used to inform the public instead of misinform them? You all should be very ashamed.

On a side note, I guess I should congratulate you. You now will surely lead the pack of the submissive and complicit corporative media outlets when history judges this as possibly the darkest period in all of US history. I had previously reserved that spot for the NY Times with their Whitehouse puppet reporters screaming WMD's, but i think you stole their thunder with this one. History will show the mainstream media just sat by idly, allowing a murdering dislyxic imbecile to kill many thousands of innocent people, and systematically strip our country of 50 years of progress in all aspects of American laws, environmental issues, and civil rights. Even more tragic after witnessing top-notch investigative reporting all through the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Considering the way the media has historically been known to hold our government accountable, you, Time magazine, will now be known as the media clown of 2004.

I am canceling my subscription as of today.

9. He would be in good company. Hitler - 1938, Stalin - 1939 AND 1942
or more accurately, appropriate and equivelant company.

10. Here is my comment
The electronic voting machines that were used to steal the election for Bush would make a far more appropriate "person of the year". Why don't you do some real journalism and cover the story.

16. It is not an award.
It recognizes who had the most impact on the world. I would say that Bush is the man, joining former Time MOY greats like Stalin and Hitler. However, wouldn't it be nice if Time selected someone who had done the most good for the world?

their distributers ought to be stacking it next to the Charmin or beside the cat litter so that people will put it to good use, because otherwise it's a shameful waste of trees.
