70% of the military voted for the Dumb Fuck.
I only feel sorry for the ones that didn't vote for him.

7. I wonder who fills out those ballots
and if they get to actually vote at all or just sign a blank ballot.

25. I can give you some info on military voting.
At least at overseas commands that aren't Iraq or Afghanistan.

Each overseas command has a voting assistance officer. That person is there to assist the military member in finding the rules for their particular state. The military member is the one who has to request the absentee ballot from their particular state. The military member is also the one who has to fill out the absentee ballot and send them in.

Every service member must adhere to their particular state's voting regulations. There are not piles of ballots sitting around, nor are there mass sessions where the command hands out ballots and makes the service members sit there and fill them out. Most of the time, the command has no knowledge of whether you voted or not. At least, that is how it has been in every command that I have been to and I have never heard of it happening otherwise.

There were a lot of problems this year with people not getting their ballots on time. Many people had to use the Federal write-in ballots. That is about the only complaint that I heard.

As I said though, I am not in a forward combat area, but this is haw it happens at most regular overseas bases, and CONUS bases as well, because most military members vote absentee.

Hope this info helps.

14. Link!!!!!!!!!!!!( and debunked)
"Nearly 70 percent of the 258,000 service members overseas during the last presidential election cast ballots, compared to 51 percent of the general public and 37 percent of U.S. civilians overseas, said Charles Abell, principal deputy to the undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness."

The only thing the poster got right was the overall percentage of Soldiers who voted, which was 70. Moran.

15. Ummm...your link is from 3 months before the election?!?
I don't see how it debunks the initial assertion, anyway (if it was from after the election).

17. No need to "debunk"...
...an assertion made without any citation.

George Bush is a fungal growth, and Cheney has been dead for three years, kept "alive" by animatronics and the blood of gay virgins.

Debunk me.

20. Sugar Ray is my Uncle
It was the only article that came up with 70 percent and vote and military on Google. It seems likely, to me, that this is where the misinformation came from.

16. I was gonna say...
...because isn't it a violation of law to ask them who they voted for? They can volunteer the information, but they can't be polled in the same manner as the general public.

Turn it upside down.

Remember the military aren't the brightest bulbs in the deck, makes sense they would vote like lemmings.
