I just NOW finished watching the first Democratic debate |
|
I work two jobs, so I just now got a chance to see it.
Good Lord, people! You have at least six or seven candidates who could beat the mentally ill, mentally retarded chimp with ONE HAND TIED BEHIND THEIR BACKS. What in the hell are you worried about?
I was very surprised to find Kerry move up to second place among these candidtates (in my humble estimation). Even Gebhardt fared better with me. And ashamed as I am to say it, I knew almost nothing about Carolyn Moseley Braun prior to this debate, but she rocks!
It was just so refreshing to hear national and international politics discussed in a televised debate, by anyone, above the kindergarten level of "evil-doers with evil weapons", even if just for a half hour. Kudos to our governor Bill Richardson and UNM for doing such a great job.
I am more convinced than ever that the Shrub is toast. He's just had it.

1. Every Democrat could beat Bush |
|
with a hand tied behind their back. If it was about intelligence and the platform, the Democratic party would win in a landslide. The debates made me very optimistic about the election. Every candidate, including Lieberman, is better than Bush. Of course, some of them are only slightly better than Bush, but still... :)
Oh, and Carol Moseley-Braun should be Vice President. She was incredible in the debates.

2. With the exception of Lieberman, they were all great! |
|
Those guys were on top of things and I remember thinking the same thing that you are saying while watching it that we have a whole bunch of great contenders up there.

It is great to see intelligent, caring people talking about issues. But, we don't win because we are right. We need to get the message to people. Communicate, talk, get out the vote, and generate enthusiasm. Start a rally in your city or state. Now. Don't wait for the GOP corporate juggernaut to start its spinning and flooding the media. People are sheep and we need to be smart shepherds.

4. I was proud of all of them (except JL). |
|
I thought they all did a fine job and would vote for any one of them in the presidential race. They were all articulate, fiesty, direct, passionate etc. They done good!
I am a Dean supporter, but I will vote in a NY second for any of them. Clearly, any one is smarter and capable than *.
