WXIN (Fox Indianapolis) Poll on Bush
I guess they thought they would celebrate his visit with glowing poll numbers but got something very different.

46% of respondants in central Indiana gave him excellent or good ratings while 53% rated him fair or poor -- a dramatic drop from just a couple months ago.

In addition, by a 55-38 count, people in central Indiana think the nation is going the wrong direction.

If his support is eroding that far, that fast here in a state that's considered a Republican lock, he may be in much more trouble than most of the pundits seem to think nationwide.

2. It's The Economy Stupid
Central Indiana is a manufacturing hub that's losing jobs to China, and Bush does not have a plan to address it.

3. the hoosiers must be listening to dick lugar saying things are bad
and are trusting their senator more than their president.

who wouldn't.

remember dick lugar and sam nunn sponsored the law in the late '90s to have the US pay for the dismantling of soviet nuke materials so terrorists can't use them, and bush cut the budget for the program from 120M to less than 30M.

it really pissed off lugar and made him much more suspicious and aggressive towards bush's failures in foreign policies. in fact, if cheney gets "disappeared" lugar wil probably be chosen as vp because he can rally support from the traditional conservatives in the party who suspect, as we all do, that bush is an idiot..

7. As Republicans go, Lugar is not so bad
I mean, I doubt I would ever vote for him if I lived in Indiana, but whenever I hear him interviewed on one of the talk shows, I am impressed...he comes off as very reasonable and he is not afraid to criticize his own president sometimes. In any event, I would much rather have him as chair of foreign affairs than the last Republican who held that gavel.

5. YES!! Did they happen to have any coverage
of the protest this afternoon that you noticed?

I got an e-mail saying they had an inflatable replica of the White House and planned to put a sign on it that read "White House for sale".
