Those Funny Freepers! "Rumsfeld Failed to Lick Stamps on GI Death Letters" |

Rumsfeld Failed to Lick Stamps on GI Death Letters scrappleface.com ^ | 2004-12-20 | Scott Ott

Forensic DNA testing has revealed that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld did not personally lick postage stamps on letters to families of troops killed in Iraq.
"We're still looking for a positive DNA match on the stamp saliva," said an aide to Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-NE. "We've asked to swab the cheeks of dozens of Pentagon office staffers."
This new evidence of Mr. Rumsfeld's psychological detachment from the war in Iraq follows his admission that letters he wrote to families of soldiers and Marines included a facsimile of his signature, rather than a unique one done with his own hand each time.
Mr. Hagel could not be reached for comment, the aide said, because "the senator is busy handwriting a news release on the topic."

1. either too many casualties, or too detached, or both. |
|
the failure to make such simple conclusions shows their lack of comprehension to a degree which is way below my radar to grasp.
Government rays must have been really strong in that area

Why isn't it okay to expect a secretary to lick those stamps? How many top corporate executives lick their own stamps?

3. Make a very serious mistake and reduce it down to a ridiculous detail |
|
Focus on the ridiculous detail. Forget that the military brass couldn't be bothered when someone gives up their life.
Standard Operating Procedure of BushCo. Deflect and ridicule.

4. Rumsfeld may not want his DNA |
|
readily available to those looking to link him up with heinous events. Besides, I bet the stamp licking AND the rubber stamping were outsourced.

5. this came up on another message board I frequent, |
|
didn't pay it no mind, it's just the freepers way of saying they don't care about the deaths and rumfilled should not be bothered by details. What could you expect from folks that work for Hellibuton. I'm starting to think they pay people to surf boards and throw out trolls.

6. They pay people to post that day's talking points |
|
The licking stamp thing will be posted and promoted on each right wing site by BushCo operatives. They will also make sure it is part of right-wing talk radio shows.
BushCo's bad treatment of our troops will be lost in the triviality of licked stamps.

That the SoD has a machine to sign the letters. And it doesn't bother me that he doesn't lick stamps, especially since modern stamps are self adhesive, and the g'ment doesn't use stamps anyway because they have franking privileges.
What bothers me is that this guy is not in jail.

with ribbons all over their SUVs and Pick-Ups proclaiming their support for our Troops. They're sickening pieces of shit who don't deserve the air they breathe.

10. As someone on the talk shows was saying yesterday, |
|
it isn't about whether Rummy signed his letters it's about Rummy not signing his when Shrub signs his own form letters, which wouldn't set well with the ten-gallon-hat-no-cattle pretzeldent. (They have to give little Cmdr Bunnypants something to occupy his time.)

11. They're saying it's too much to expect, and joking about DEATH |
|
of the troops they supposedly support!? This is unfathomable. For a mother who carried a child in her body, getting a letter saying s/he is DEAD; for a young parent who fell in love and married, a letter saying s/he is DEAD; for a child who may never have even met the human being whose flesh and blood they share, a letter saying s/he is DEAD.
How can they joke about this? How is it asking too much for Rummy to hold each of those letters in his hand if only for a second, to apply ink to paper for only a second, when decades of life have been lost forever to these families, because of HIS reckless blunders, greed and incompetence!!!! That's asking too much of him??
This really infuriates me. What is WRONG with these freepers?!?
