I'm hoping this isn't true
but true or not, the fact that stories like are appearing doesn't bode well for the future of relations between the US and the middle east.

Reports of US medics taking Iraqi organs

A European military source has revealed that American physicians accompanying US forces in Iraq are removing human organs from Iraqi dead, and some wounded before killing them. The source added that these organs are being sold to medical centers and sick people in the US.

1. Nah, that's just not possible.
The rich get all the organs they need from Chinese political prisoners.

2. not believable
Human organs for transplant are a perishable item. They wouldn't make it from an Iraqi battlefield to a U.S. medical center in time to be good for anything.

There are always atrocity tales on both sides of a war. Remember the incubator babies?

3. Don't organs
need to be used within a certain amount of hours?

4. What I'm saying is
whether this is true or not this is the kind of stuff they are reading in Syria, and my guess is that the average person there knows less about organ transplants than we do (and I don't know a whole lot)

5. True, there are many of these stories out there in the middle east media
a couple of days ago I read that stories were travelling the Middle East press that our soldiers tied dead Falluja teens to their hummers and drove around proudly displaying their kill.

Many many stories.

With all the despair and hardship going on over there, it is probably getting easier and easier for them to believe these stories.

6. They're all so gullible
Heck, we don't even believe the evidence of torture in Abu Graib.

8. That's part of the problem
sometimes, actually an unfortunately large amount of the time, these stories turn out to be true so it's easier for people to believe the ones that aren't.

9. Probably an embellishment of something that is true
Organ transplants may occur from deceased enemy combatants and American soldiers to a wounded enemy combatant or Amercian soldier if the need is there. It would be up to the physicians at the time I suppose.

I'm certain it has occurred in modern warfare.

10. Merely corroborative detail
intended to lend an air of artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

11. They're gullible??
We have people here believing Bush protects the country, protects the middle class, that astrology and tarot cards are real, gay marriage will destroy civilization, and that Muslims hate us for our freedom.

And we say THEY are gullible?

14. The accusation is all that counts
Here's a Churchill quote that shows just what peril the oppressors (that's us, folks) face:

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a
chance to get its pants on."

The accusation is everything.

We can't even fix the water supply or the sewage system, and electricity's just a luxury.

15. Kidney Thieves!
So, they go grab a coupla dozen iraqi kidneys and fly 'em over here and plug 'em right in?

What about cross-matching? How long are the organs viable? Did i hear Tommy "Country Club" franks say that if the shit hit the fan over in Kabul, he could be there in 36 hours?

An Urban Legend.

But...A very damaging one, like the "Snapple rumour" that went around years ago.
