Redford on Bush: "That trust has been...savaged"

Q. What's your reaction to the election? I was fascinated by a poll done by the University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Studies that said that a week before the election, 72 percent of Bush's voters thought weapons of mass destruction had been found, and 75 percent thought Saddam Hussein had been conclusively proven a participant in 9/11 or Al Qaeda supporter.

A. The people who are people who didn't want to hear and believed what they hoped . . . because they were so for Bush. They were so entrenched in whatever their reasons are for voting for someone that I still think has not been truthful to the American people. Nothing's going to change that.

What sticks hardest with me is that this country, whatever doubts we had about election, whatever concerns and doubts, and there were many -- were pushed aside to stand tall behind this guy . After 9/11, he asked for our trust and he asked for our support. And he got it. He got it unconditionally. That trust has been . . . savaged.

The entire world gave him trust. And now: You look at what's happened to that trust.

2. I love this guy...

He's done the country a great service by his Sundance Channel and I think it's cool that he doesn't get caught up in that elitist mainstream media plastic surgery crowd. Even John Stewart was bagging on him cuz he looks old! John Stewart I suppose think he's strange cuz he doesn't get plastic surgery.
