I think Dean would make a terrific VP selection. |
|
I've been on the Dean bandwagon pretty much since it got up and running, but it just occured to me that Dean would make a pretty fantastic VP selection. He'd make just about any ticket unstopable, and he's the type of guy I want taking over should tough times necessitate. Also, it would pave the road for a Dean presidency in '12. Right now I'm thinkin' either Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean are lookin' pretty unstopable.
Whatever...I'm voting for whoever the dems nominate.

One of the traditional duties of a VP is to act as a proxy for the President by "test-marketing" some of the more controversial ideas. I think Dean, with his passion and wit, would be a good fit for that task.

I could live with either Clark/Dean or Dean/Clark. Though I would prefer Clark/Dean. But either way, we'll have it made.

I need to get a better look at him but, he is a good fit as VP for a strong Pres. He had the vicious VP style yesterday. He knows the issues. He is a real Washington guy. I only think he fits with Clark now what I think of it. I think his personality would clash with Dean's and Kerry's.

He has too much ego for VP. Think of Clinton and Gore - Clinton (either of them) would suck at being a VP, whereas Gore is exactly right for this task. Dean is much more like Clinton than like Gore.

6. What are you talking about? Dean's ego is in no way too big to be VP. |
|
And if he were VP, he'd bring a huge number of grassroots activists, independents, white males amd new voters with him.

8. I like the idea of an attack dog VP |
|
but seriously, Dean would never go for it. His ego really is too big especially after having his very early gambit put his at the front of the pack.
He would be good but he would turn down the job.

9. Dean-Gephardt or Gephardt-Dean |
|
could be a great combination. Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside. Plus they get along well. Dean supported Gep in '88.

11. I'm a Dean supporter, and I think Dean would make an awful VP choice. |
|
One, there is issue baggage. Dean is considered "antiwar," so that makes him incompatible with a lot of "prowar" candidates. Secondly, I don't think many want to deal with the civil unions if they can avoid it. These disadvantages to Dean cancel out when we look at his fundraising and organizational prowess at the top of the ticket, but with someone else running the campaign, they don't.
Secondly, Dean comes from Vermont which will go Democratic and is insignificant electorally.

12. I think he will be the nominee so this is really mute. |
|
Why would you be talking about6 a VP spot when he is on his way to the top of the ticket?
