Aide: Bush "pretty tired" from hard work of hosting Christmas parties
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 07:12 PM by Bluebear
Poor thing. P.S. Who's paying for this?

===
WASHINGTON - (KRT) - There's been a whole lotta shaking going on in the White House this month - a whole lot of hand shaking, as well as picture taking.

By the time President Bush and first lady Laura Bush host the last of at least 20 holiday parties on Monday night, they will have greeted some 6,600 friends, associates, political donors, members of the Cabinet and the Congress, Secret Service agents and ink-stained wretches of the press.

"Physically, I don't understand how he does it," said one aide to the president. Bush generally prefers quiet, low-key evenings at home and is "pretty tired."

Christmastime parties are among oldest White House traditions, a throwback to a time when presidents would occasionally open up the place to the general public.

These days, the guest list is confined to people with connections.

How many died in Iraq today? Bush is tired from parties? Let him permanently retire. No need for anymore parties.

7. Seems to me I remember Hitler throwing those lavish parties
up to about 1944. I think they stopped for some reason.

8. "I like him because he is just a regular guy like me"
How many times during the election did we hear about how the American people identified with Bush because he was just a "regular guy" who they would like to have a beer with?

12. Bush stays up past his bedtime to host a party ...
... and the press fawns all over him. (As for the aide who says "I don't understand how he does it" -- if he's that easily impressed, he should be completely bowled over by the millions of Americans who are holding down multiple jobs, raising families, etc. without anywhere near the degree of support that Bush has had, in the Governor's Mansion and the White House.)

All right. So Bush trots out the "Jolly Rancher" persona even though he'd rather have a "quiet, low-key evening at home", and is praised to the skies. Could someone tell me how different this is, from Al Gore or John Kerry giving a speech or lobbying voters, even though they would rather hang out with their families or read a good book? Yet when those guys do it, the press is all over them, saying how phony they are, with abysmal "people skills" compared to sociable Bush.

13. the balls of a white house aide to say something like that ...bush being
tired from hosting sooooooooooo m$$$$$$$$$$$$$ny Christmas parties while our young and women in uniform are dying, not to mention the not counted thousands of iraqi civilians bush's military is killing every day!

the man should just be impeached!!!!!!!!!!--perhpas there is a good sign in that i read in another post that bob novak was STUNNED that bush referred to the Christmas season as HOLIDAYS ... maybe the bush man has become alittle bit too cocky and maybe he has already begun to turn heads in disbelief ....... and maybe all of that is good for those of us who have opposed his power grab from day one!
