Politics at the Pump-----some signs The People are waking up!
I moved to New Mexico from Arkansas about a year ago. I have found the political atmosphere
wonderfully invigorating here. Today I had an experience that was particularly refreshing.

I was about to gas up my car (gas is 1.79 per gallon here). I noticed a fellow at the pump
"next door". He was driving a large pick up and had a trailer with some nice motorcycles. He
looked to be in his late sixties or early seventies. His wife was heading in to pay for their gas.

Anyway, all of a sudden he says to no one in particular, "Thank you President George Bush for
this bullshit!"

Well, I wasn't sure exactly where he was coming from but I ventured, "Yeah, we conquer a country
and the gas still keeps going up." He says, "I think we are being ripped off and there is nothing
we can do about it." I say, "Well, I am going to vote the right way next time, even though it didn't
quite work last time."

He then said, "Yeah, I think a lot of folks are getting fed up. Maybe we ought to impeach him! They did
it to Clinton, maybe we ought to do it to Bush. Maybe we should get a paper started and give
everybody the idea." I said, "Stranger things have happened."

Then he said, "I am ex military and I don't see why our boys and girls are over there getting killed. They
ought to be brought back and it be given back to the Iraqis". He continued, "I am retired and doing
o.k. but what about these people that have to drive forty miles to go to work."

We parted wishing each other well and hoping things would improve. I didn't ask his name but I
felt the philosophical touch of a kindred spirit. If folks like that are turning on The Great Leader,
maybe one day the shenanigans of the Bush Cabal will be terminated.

Have you been hearing more of this positive thought lately?

They are old fasioned Conservative Republicans from
Michigan...I think I may get them to vote for my Candidate .

:bounce: That's a really big deal ..They voted for jr..I'm
not sure why. They hated poppy and voted for Perot .
They are not defending the shrubery at all .
