Are you feeling grumpy?
Normally I like this time of year. People are a little more polite, kind and generous with each other in December. But this year I am feeling so grumpy over the state of this country, the war in Iraq, Bush stealing another election, and the Christian Rightwing telling us all how to live our lives that I am just a big sorehead with a nasty HUMBUG attitude!

Acting 'joyous' just seems so fake to me.

I watch these dumb commercials of people buying up a Wal-Mart and want to puke! It seems so heartless to act like all is good in the world while more people died at the hands of Bush today.

"In today's news... 20 Americans were blown to bits in Iraq. Meanwhile, in other news... Wal-Mart's holiday retail sales are booming!"

Anyone else feel especially grumpy this holiday?

1. I'm feeling depressed.
I don't see any solution. I feel like an infantry soldier watching a heavy cavalry charge bear down. MAYBE if I hold my pike at exactly the right angle, and hit the armor at a weak spot, and recover in time to stop the NEXT rider...

And every single soldier down the rest of the line stands firm and does the exact same thing...

Then MAYBE there is a fighting chance. But I just wanna stop, and run.

11. I'm feeling depressed and angry!
I am angry that these fascist neocons have stolen the election right out from underneath us.

I am depressed because there does not seem to be anything positive happening in this country -- it is all bad news. This administration seems incapable of doing anything "good". Not only that, but everyday the outdo the day before.

3. I sympathize
but life's too short, too precious to allow some moronic bullies to affect my humor.

It is said that a wise man can hold two conflicting ideas without qualms. The same should be said of a content man and emotions. I can feel genuine sorrow about events of the world and yet have good cheer toward my fellows individually until they have done something in particular to warrant a change of heart.

Still, I understand your feelings and the genuineness thereof. Know you are not alone in disdaining heartlessness and inanity.

4. ME!!
I usually love Christmas, this year I just don't feel like celebrating. Since I have a kid, the tree is up but that's about it. There are a few presents under the tree, but nothing compared to the past few years. Even my favorite Christmas music doesn't help.

5. Yes...sad, angry

I don't feel that way all the time-- but there's a lingering melancholy everywhere, it seems.

Who can blame any of us if that's what we're feeling? We've experienced a loss, a HUGE loss, and it has to be acknowledged and dealt with. And I think that's what we're doing here.

But, by God, we also have tremendous SPIRIT and no one is going to take that from us.

7. No longer really feeling that "Bah Humbuggish," just feeling like I can
hardly wait until Jan 21 or Jan 22 after the grand "reinaugural" or "reinstallgural" of * for I just felt like it won't be until we get to that time without incident that I would be able to breathe easy again.

Other than that I just sort of feel "stuck" in as far as getting motivated to write my Christmas cards this year.

10. I'm feeling extreme anger.........however
For the sake of family, for the sake of taking a breather, for the sake of my friends and neighbors...I PURPOSELY put up a tree, put up a few lights, bought a few inexpensive gifts, wrapped them in bright paper, stocked in food for a meal...and I'm looking forward to that time when I can just deflate and enjoy ONE day without politics, hassels, fear, dead bodies on TV and all the rest...

Normally, I am "over" Christmas. I'm a granny with lots of holidays under my belt. For me it's too commerical anyway...I stopped having them a long time ago.

This year was "SPECIAL". There are other's to remember, pray and care for..people in worse situations, people dying. I wanted to express LOVE instead of hate and violence..I want my teen grandson to forget a draft may be coming. I want to make our family time the best I'm able to. Who knows what hell tomorrow or next year will bring...Enjoy, express love and charity while you have any to give.

I wish everyone well~~Peace

12. Yes
I've been grumpy since Nov 2nd and I can't seem to shake it off. I've definitely changed, probably for the worse. My attitude sucks. I'm trying to get out of this disposition but it's not easy. I'm trying though..
