C'mon people! Show me the shocking scandal that will bring W down!
With all the slime GW and his gang are swimming around in, why can't any reporter come up with any? Myriads of unforgivable scandals abound I'm sure! Let's expose at least ONE, OK? Someone? Anyone?

(I'd pray for help from God except that he seems to be completely toadying to the dark lord right now. )

1. No man!
It has to be sex and I can't picture Bushie having any sexual tendencies.

Seriously though, it's really sad when we have such a shitty president (lowercase intentional) who, I'm sure, has a shitload of potential scandals that A. The media will never report or B. That won't trouble his supporters.

29. I'm afraid you're right
Unless this dork of a president gets caught screwing around, he's going to just slide on by....

I thought that an executive order condoning torture would have gotten some attention in the media but it hasn't. This guy could order a hit on the pope and get away with it.

Texas to Florida: White House-linked clandestine operation paid for "vote switching" software

By Wayne Madsen
December 6, 2004

—The manipulation of computer voting machines in the recent presidential election and the funding of programmers who were involved in the operation are tied to an intricate web of shady off-shore financial trusts and companies, shady espionage operatives, Republican Party politicians close to the Bush family, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) contract vehicles.

An exhaustive investigation has turned up a link between current Florida Republican Representative Tom Feeney, a customized Windows-based program to suppress Democratic votes on touch screen voting machines, a Florida computer services company with whom Feeney worked as a general counsel and registered lobbyist while he was Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, and top level officials of the Bush administration.

According to a notarized affidavit signed by Clint Curtis, while he was employed by the NASA Kennedy Space Center contractor, Yang Enterprises, Inc., during 2000, Feeney solicited him to write a program to "control the vote." At the time, Curtis was of the opinion that the program was to be used for preventing fraud in the in the 2002 election in Palm Beach County, Florida.

His mind was changed, however, when the true intentions of Feeney became clear: the computer program was going to be used to suppress the Democratic vote in counties with large Democratic registrations.

7. I would stick with the integrity issue
I still want to kick him out of the Methodist church, as I wrote last year:

" The evidence I have seen and presented show that George W. Bush is not an honest man. He does not live up to the standards of integrity which should be a hallmark of a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the United Methodist church. I do not believe he even tries. The Methodist Book of Discipline says:
"A church that rushes to punishment is not open to God's mercy, but a church lacking the courage to act decisively on personal and social issues loses its claim to moral authority." p. 47

It is past time for the United Methodist church to hold George W. Bush accountable for his lack of integrity."

8. Only way things will change is if some intrepid reporter
investigates the Urosevich brothers. They run Diebold and ES&S and "count" 80% of the US votes.

Otherwise 2008 will look a lot like 2004, except... Jeb.

Where are our Woodward & Bernsteins to write "All the President's Ballots"?

16. Even Woodward and Bernstein was largely a fable...
... I heard some interviews on Air America and Democracynow.org about the whole Woodward and Bernstein story. Apparently Woodward made up some of it, and exaggerated some of it. The "deep throat" story of the underground garage was made up. I wish I could remember the links but its been proven true. Check the democracynow.org archives and type in Woodward. I saw the interviews after Woodwards Plan of Attack came out.

28. If GWB and teen were snacking on barbequed festuses? Maybe?
probably not. It'd still be Clinton's fault.

Seriously, there is such a thing as "critical mass." We're all discouraged and our outrage meters have worn out, but some of that 51% have got to be having some buyer's remorse.

I'd like for GWB to be brought down by something outrageous that he's already done, but in truth, it'll probably take be a few more months of post-Iraqi election bloodbaths AND a concerted Dem smear effort regarding SS piratization AND a tanking economy to do it.

And all that we can hope for is a traditional gain for the opposition party in the mid-terms. Really, that's it.

Merry Christmas. The next four years are gonna suck.

The problem is that Dubya and the gang have focused on shoring up any and all arms of government rule that could bring him down. FBI, CIA, DOD, everyone. Even during the elections he had police in Ohio working for the republicans. Remember? Threatening voters with arrest? Anyone who doubts this is fooling themselves. Look at everyone who has gone public. There's those two CIA veterans from last year, Clark, O'Neill, Wilson, Hillary, etc... I can't think of any president in my 40 years that has so much verified corrupt information out to the public.

18. I agree..this new double standard sucks!
the press treated Bill Clinton like their hockey putt. Bush is treated like a Godly Prince who would sacrifice his life for the good of America's children. We all know that coward would hide like any chickenshit politician, except maybe John Kerry or Max Cleland.

Who cares that Clinton's fund-raising scandal was covered, but Bush's fund-raising trips to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have been ignored! Raising money from foreign leaders who have a national interest in our occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan doesn't effect Bush's approach as Commander in Chief..get real!!!

The press is nothing but shit to me..where is the news, when did the press have to ask our government permission to report the truth? :argh:

19. Hopefully, the truth about 9/11 will come out. I pray everyday that
someone will come forward with strong evidence (a smoking gun of a signed order or something of that sort) of Chimp and the PNAC/neoCON involvement. I think this will probably be the only thing the true Chimp followers will believe, but this is just my opinion. Of course, I never read any of the good books, like the New Pearl Harbor and Crossing the Rubicon, which I have heard good things about. Therefore, I don't know if these authors have such evidence. Guess I need to take a trip to my library today.

I think every other treasonous thing this Chimp has done is just everday stuff to these fundies and no big deal. He's born again Christian and he needs to be forgiven, ya know. Of course, we all know better, but will they ever get it unless there's strong evidence of murdering 3,000 civilians to further the neocon agenda in the Middle East?

DISCLAIMER: I know there's other DUers who will not agree with me and that's okay.

You disable the organgrinder, not the monkey.

I believe Rove is a closet homosexual. Get the goods on him, show it to the Radical Right, lose their backing, get the rest of the *'s supporters not to give him a free pass on credibility, let him twist in the wind, and then . . .

once he's lost his persuasiveness and power, then Congress MAY impeach him for war crimes.

Plan B: wait for Germany to prosecute Rumsfeld for war crimes.

21. If the Aug 6 2001 Bin Ladin memo had no impact, nothing will I'm afraid
Remember how Condi and Bushco pretended to be totally taken by surprise by the 9/11 attacks? They made statements of shock and disbelief that anything like that could occur. Then during the 9/11 hearings (that Bushco tried to prevent and stall as long as possible) Condi was forced to disclose their Aug 6 memo warning that Bin Laden planned to strike targets in U.S.
Bush was on vacation and failed to act on this memo in any way whatsoever to prevent an attack. The existence of this memo and Bush's nonaction and attempt to obstruct the commission and then downplay the memo should have set in motion an independent prosecutor and impeachment proceedings.

Yet the media conveys and supposedly the majority of Americans persist in believing that Bush is strong in protecting us against terror. I believe that Bush expected an attack but didn't think it was preventable and knew it would be a good excuse to invade Afghanistan and Iraq which was already on the drawing boards. However, I doubt he realized how devastingly successful the attack would be (probably Bin Laden was just as surprised when the towers were totally demolished with so many fatalities)

There is probably a similar smoking gun memo regarding Bush's approval of torture techniques against prisoners. But with the current political climate it will go nowhere. The only way anything will happen against Bush is if he becomes recklessly deranged in a way that becomes public knowledge and cannot be dealt with behind closed doors causing a large number of prominent Repubs to turn against him. But I doubt that will happen, he will be heavily medicated and shipped off to Crawford instead.

25. I really believe the scandal has been out ....
for quite some time. They plant a few nut cases into the 911 cover up and then everybody closes their eyes to the truth. They want you to believe that everybody is a nut case if you don't believe the story that they fed the people. But people are just like sheep and follow the master whatever direction he goes.
How in the hell did WTC building number 7 fall like it did from a fire? No plane slammed into the building. So how did it fall the same way as did the North and South Towers?
This is just one of many things that just make no since to the offical story.

26. Absolutely nothing at all...
The media will not change, and until they do this guy could get away with anything.

His followers will just buy another guilt ribbon to stick on their SUV's. Instead of "Support our troops" it would say "Support our President". I'm not shitting either. Ten thousand troops could die fighting against Greenland and they would believe it was worth it if he said so. This President could say anything and his followers would believe it.

There are way too many examples of this to think otherwise:

Iraq is defending our freedom.
Iraq was a threat to the United States.
Iraq was involved in 911.
Iraq had WMD's.
The economy is doing well.
A decorated war hero is a traitor, but an AWOL coward would be a better President for defending our country.
The previous President should be blamed for everything.
I haven't made any mistakes.

What the hell is going on with that investigation? It's been a year since Ashcroft recused himself and the new prosecutor seems to be taking his sweet time. Will Inspector Clouseau run out the clock until 2008?

OTOH, indictments now against Bush/Cheney/Rove would truly make this "the most wonderful time of the year."
