I shudder when I read the WSJ editorials but what I really get creeped out about is the reader responses. One of today's articles was titled:
"God and Good Government
Are American soldiers doing the Lord's work in Iraq? You bet."
http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/bminiter/?id=110006055I didn't even read the article and just went straight to the reader response section to check out all the freaks drooling and cooing over the article like they always do. There are usually one or two sane readers who respond, but I should have known that the entire rest of the readership is the free republic members. I can't believe that never dawned on me before now. Here's the proof:
"The Best
Neil Gustafson - Raleigh, N.C.
Best editorial on the war I have seen. You should print this is the WSJ paper for the world to read! I would love to post this on Free Republic but rules prohibit."
Hee hee.
Here's another one -- note how many religious words she manages to squeeze into 2 sentences:
"God Bless America
Barbara Wellborn - Jackson, Miss.
Thank you for this article about our military doing the Lord's work, even if they aren't aware of it at the time. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and OpinionJournal.com and God Bless America!"
Freeper for sure! Somehow, I feel better now. I guess all along I thought that the responders on that board were real people and it scared me. Now that I know they were only Freepers all along, I will probably sleep better at night.
