CNN showing arrival of Mosul wounded in Germany.
Why now, after all this time, is it suddenly okay to show this aspect of the war to the nation? What is going on? What is the political gain and for whom? How cynical does that sound?

1. Election's over
and the polls have shifted on the war. CNN reads polls even more closely than the politicians when there's no election in the offing.

2. somebody must have forgotten the memo from Uncle Karl
Mr. Rove won't be too happy with this... stay tuned for more anti-CNN rants from RW radio hosts.

3. It's simple, this was the deadliest single attack on Americans in Iraq
The poliutical gain of showing wounded soldiers landing in Germany is immense. It shows Bush "cares about our troops" so the day after the attack, they are in the best closest medical facility possible.

It's "compassionate consservatism" liove and in color via sattelite.

4. I think they are trying to distract the public from the fact that
these guys were sitting ducks. They were on an airstrip in the open in a tent. It was also apparently a communal dining area for several units. How stupid can the command get? This is to distract the public with the sight of grieving families and marshall support for the military by using the front line soldier. If the public thinks about what lead to this instead of being emotional in the moment, then Rummy will have to go.

7. I just came to post the same questions, with Wright Patman's answer...
upthread. Bush now has his second term, and Rove is enjoying his Christmas and maybe not on his direct line to CNN, so we are allowed to see our fallen soldiers. Suddenly, the cable media-whores show us the reality of our country's dead and wounded, the price of Bush's madness.
