in the body of a message, or your sig if you ALWAYS want the
pic to appear. no tags are needed.

ie.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/images/homepage/demopedia.gif

you get the URL by right-clicking with the cursor over the
image (it must be ONLINE) and selecting "Properties"

a window will appear with the URL listed. select, copy and
paste it

3. See the FAQ
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=faq&q_id=32

Basically, you just put in the full URL for the image (including http://). Note that's for the image itself, not just for the page it's on. To get that you usually have to right-click and check the properties.

Always be careful about the source of any images you use. Some sites are set up to block direct links to images, and sometimes they'll replace it with something truly disgusting in order to discourage future linking.

That's usually private sites. Public- and corporate sites generally won't have any "shocker" warnings.
