A Call for a Positive Act by Democrats, Liberals and Progressives.
Edited on Sat Sep-06-03 06:45 AM by The Lone Liberal
Tomorrow evening Showtime will air a docudrama on Bush and 9/11. It will air directly following Bush’s address to the nation on Iraq. This is nothing more than a “Triumph of the Will” which was written by Lionel Chetwynd an ardent support of Bush. It is propaganda history of the same stripe as that produced by Leni Riefenstahl, Josef Goebbels, and Julius Streicher for Hitler in 1934.

As Democrats the most positive act that we can take is to call our cable company and cancel Showtime. We should refuse to enrich those who would purposefully continue the deceit and lie of this administration. If you have cable and if you subscribe to Showtime it would be an act of integrity to cancel that subscription today. That is what I shall do.

1. Well, if I got showtime,
I would. Easy for me to say, though.

2. instead of cancelling showtime
Since it seems most cable packages offering showtime offer shit like HBO on demand, try to set up HBO On Demand to show "Bowling for Columbine"

Speaking of which, I just rented Roger and Me (I saw it when it was released originally, but I was like eight at the time), and I think Roger and Me is the better liberal propoganda documentary.

3. The conservative Chicago Tribune virtually called the movie propaganda.
The TV critic was quite harsh in his assessment yesterday, although he does praise Timothy Bottoms' acting ability.

Here is the link to the review.

If I had cable, I would cancel Showtime. Perhaps I already am boycotting.

6. Is There a way to have a boycott drive, so that large numbers of
people cancel service. Unless that happens, I don't think they will feel it.
