1. It's worse. Have you seen what Tom Delay does?
They get all the millionaire donors together, and they cut a deal where they all give the max to every republican - regardless of where they live.

As for the million dollar donations? Soft money, baby, soft money.

Oh yeah, and Washington lobbyists....if Tom Delay catches the giving one cent to Democrats....they are on the shitlist for good. And, it get worse, the lobbyists are only allowed to hire ex-GOP staffers. Hire a ex-Dem staffer, and it will be a long, cold winter for you.

2. They write them out to general funds rather than the specific

candidate committee.

Plus some of them also give to all GOP candidates in every state...

As for businesses...every time I give a donation I have had to write down what company I work for...

Think about it...if 100 employees at UPS gave 100 dollars a piece...then it woudl look like UPS gave 10,000 to a candidate.

4. You can give
$2,000 each to the campaign, then another $2,000 to the legal fund, then $25 or 50 thousand to the Democratic National Committee, then unlimited amounts to state parties. You could donate to GOTV by moveon or similar groups. So you can donate whatever you want.
