The Republicans do so much damage to our country everytime... |
|
they are in power, one has to wonder if they are really fake patriots that loathe our country or are they simply stupid? It's a hard sell to try and convince people that Repubs are "stupid" because we all know Repubs that appear as normal and bright as the average "liberal". :) Therefore, we can only deduce that they, in fact, hate our country.
Look what Nixon did to our laws - with Watergate and reckless disregard for the Constitution. Look at Reagan with his disdain for the Congress and the laws they passed and his little Iran-Contra criminal undertaking. Look at Poppy Bush, with his runaway deficits and total disregard for the economic well-being of this country. And now, look at Dubya and his followers. They inherited the best and strongest economy in the history of this country and in four short years, they found a way to hammer it into the dirt and tear it to shambles. And they say they are "patriots". They cannot convince by their actions.

Sorry kids - but it's the Frat-Boy mentality that got 'em there, it's the Frat-boy mentality that'll rule.
Once you win the prize - it's yours to do with as you please.
Some Frat-boys keep their prize polished and regard it with reverence.
Other Frat-boys, knowing someone besides them is gonna get it one day, do there best to profit from it, despoil it, and make it dirty while they got it.
Get it?

6. The first time I ever saw George W. Bush on television, |

I thought "smart-ass frat-boy."
If you've seen one, you've pretty much seen 'em all. I never expected to see one in the White House, though.

8. I actually saw * in person in June 1999, at the Del Mar Fair in Del Mar, |
|
California, when he was just starting early campaigning for president. At that time I only knew his name as the son the former president, and nothing more. I didn't even know he was actually governor of Texas at the time. He was just the "son of former President Bush." He was working the crowd and shaking a lot of hands - there were some people walking with him but they didn't look to be like bodyguards or secret service, just his entourage. I did notice that he seemed to have "people skills" where he seemed to have an ability to connect with people on a 1-1 basis even if only for a second, in the "Hi how y'all doin, great to meetcha" kind of way that church pastors have. Kind of superficial but sort of genuine in a way at the same time. My impression after seeing him and hearing someone mention his name was, "so he's the son of the ex-president, he's running on his father's name, well good luck, his father lost to Clinton" and then I forgot about him until the primaries.

Frat boyz = white punks with worthless degrees, no intellectual curosity, and a sense of entitlement. A generalization to be sure, but based on a vast and extremely consistent database.
Ain't it great! Such an extreme disconnect between the traits necessary to actually govern a country as complex as this, and what is actually "occupying" that position. No wonder dispair and disgust is the prevalent attitude abroad towards us. Wish I could be outside looking "in".

Then they are in worse shape than they can ever imagine. Perhaps they're not so bright after all?? It doesn't compute.

To a degree, the reason our nation had a civil war is because he broke with his party's support of slavery.
Those damned Repukes tried to screw the world back then, and they haven't stopped trying to this day.

And yes Roosevelt was an imperialist, but virtually every politician was prior to WWI. He was also the greatest of trust busters and a pioneering environmentalist.

Isn't it sad how such progressives belonged to what could be called today's worst political party ever?

put in the vice presidency to sideline him from becoming dangerous in New York politics. Oops. Likewise Clinton's first election was helped mightily by Ross Perot's candidacy.

It seems to me that influential Republicans believe in a kind of Social Darwinism. Bush refers to it himself all the time when talking about his tax cuts. He says we need to give investors more money, because that's where growth comes from.
To Republican politicians, "our country" means "the wealthy". People who have money are better in some way. The natural leaders. It's their burden to lead the idiot masses and get them to do what the country needs, whether that's invading Iraq, or cutting Social Security, or anything else.
I think they really believe it. They just have an incredible amount of disregard for the non-wealthy, and a major case of hubris.

14. You'd have to go back to Eisenhower for the last good repub. |

Aside from that whole spy plane thing, his term saw decent economic prosperity, fiscal responsibility and job creation.
But after that, I seriously don't get what's so appetizing about the elephant shit sandwich (one that they KNOW is coming) being eaten repeatedly and without complaint. They KNOW that corruption, scandal, a bad economy, bad job markets, foreign relations down the crapper and war will happen. Do they LIKE this stupidity?
