Democratic Response to Bush Speech by Sen. Limp Spine

Fellow Americans:

President Bush has just asked the American people for their continued support in the Iraq War and ongoing War on Terror. The Democratic Party, which wholeheartedly supported the President in the Iraq war, will not abandon him now.

Progress is being made. The Iraqi people yearn to be free. As the President has said, we must stay the course, regardless of the consequences. Our allies and enemies must know that we will not fail to keep our word in the cause of freedom everywhere.

We have may issues in which we differ with the President: the economy, jobs, health care...

But our primary task is to secure the homeland. We must support the President in his resolve. If we need to reinstitute the draft, then let's do it.

Mr. President, we may disagree on many issues but you can count on the Democratic Party to support you in achieving our common goals of peace, prosperity and democracy for all.

13. Davis gave the Rebuttal::::Very Good
In Part:
Twelve years ago, much like today, the American economy was hemorrhaging jobs, thanks to Republican leadership in the White House," Davis said in the Democratic response to the president's weekly radio address.

"To be blunt: there's a vacuum of national leadership that is sucking up American jobs at an alarming rate ... Just yesterday, new figures show that, since President Bush took office, our economy has lost 3.3 million jobs.

"No president since Herbert Hoover has seen job losses like this over the course of his term in office," Davis said. "We Democrats respectfully say to the president and his Republican party: give America back the millions of jobs that your failed policies have taken away."
