Recall: Georgy Russell
The 0.1 DUers who follow my sig line closely will notice how I ditched Arianna in my sig line for Georgy Russell (and after posting this I'll also ditch Camejo). Why? Let's see who's the best - an ex-conservative pundit who still has some conservative positions, an old investor who states his positions on issues that are purely federal, or a young programmer who is AFAIK the only candidate in the race with an endorsement from a professor from a respectable university? I'll pick the young programmer, especially when she emphasizes the very issues I care about and takes exactly my positions on all. And as an aside, her biography is astoundingly similar to this of the main character in a fictional nightmare scenario I have in my mind about a global nuclear war.

So, apart from the fact that she's not Cruz "death penalty for 14-year-olds" Bustamante, what might be wrong with her?

3. Tell that to the next 15-year-old falsely-accused murderer...
...whom Bustamante will execute. On death penalty, the guy isn't any better than Bush.

2. Georgy is cool
but my vote goes to Bustamante. I'm not crazy about him, but I'm not crazy about Davis either and I'm voting No on the Recall. In this case we have to go with the frontrunner; letting Arnold or someone else win with 20-30% of the vote would be a disaster.

If it weren't so urgent to defeat the Repubs in Calif, or if it were closer, I would consider giving Georgy my vote. I hope this inspires her to run for local office.

4. Is it that urgent?
McClintock would rather have a Democrat in the Governor's Mansion than a RINO like Ah-nold. Why? Because a Democrat won't be able to raise taxes, whereas a Republican will (think Pete Wilson). This is one reason why Bustamante and Davis are not better than Ah-nold in all important areas (they are in some, but the differences among the three cancel one another out).

5. Note:
Supporting Georgy doesn't infringe on DU's rules, even on those that aren't enforced for the recall. She is a Democrat, so supporting her complies with the rules of DU, which AFAIK don't say that this is a forum for Democrats who support the party's "official" candidate.

6. I'm sorry, the minute I see your signature line
you lose any credibility. It seems you're pushing the ol "has to get worse first " line. anyone who goes along with Darrel Issa's recall is not a progressive, and although i disagree with Jacinto's ill fated suggestions, something is not right about your hopes for California.

8. My hopes?
I don't think it has to be worse before it gets better or any other Marxist bullshit. Rather, I use a completely different line: the differences among Davis, Bustamante, and Ah-nold cancel one another out, so logically I should vote my conscience for Georgy.

7. point one percent... ha!
I noticed you changed your sigline recommendation, and figured you had your reasons... but it did make me curious.

I don't know any of these characters from a hole in the ground... I saw terminator 3... worse than 2 or 1 but c'est la vie... likely terminator-4 judgement day for the governer would be the worst film of the lot. ;-)

You were recommending huffington... what is wrong there?

9. Not .1%...
...but 0.1 DUer (well, it's at least 1, but I didn't know it then).

Anyway, I simply think Georgy is better than Arianna. She doesn't have skeletons in her closet, she has an endorsement from a Berkeley math professor (he can't be that important, though, because otherwise he wouldn't be teaching undergraduate courses, let alone undergraduate courses that non-majors took), and she's a fellow youngster ;). That said, like with Camejo, I'll vote for Arianna if she's clearly more electable than Georgy (and than Camejo).
