Troops at FOB Bernstein, Iraq have only MREs to eat and they are |
|
sick from them. Also, they have 1 operational tank and are driving around in unarmored Humvees. This is the Tennessee national guard unit that questioned Rummy before they went into Kuwait. I know someone in this unit and I'm sending a care package tomorrow with a phone calling card. They have to pay to call home or to use the internet. PS Bush is a bastard

2. I'm sorry to hear that. |

I hope their situation improves rapidly, but from what Rumsfeld and the others have been saying, it may be 6 months before they get armor. You would think the publicity would have done them some good.

8. MREs over a long period of time can lead to several problems, including |
|
dehydration.
YOU try living on MREs for a few months straight. Say goodbye to being able to take a dump, among other things.

you are claiming they have only MRE's and no water, them the problem is lack of water, not the MRE's.
Real problem gets diluted with "only have MRE's to eat" Whats next, had to wear brown and green? Maybe even carry things? Guess what? people are trying to kill them too.
I think when contacting the Vets groups, leaving the "only MRE's" part out is for the best. Unless you want to hear real hunger stories. How about landing with your spare socks (2) full of rice, and some tablets to make the water "pure". Koala bears are not tasty. Green coconuts give you the shits.

4. I'm probably the only soldier in history .... |

that preferred MREs over hot A's. In the Army, officers are last in line for chow. We would get hot A's in mermite cans, and a lot of the time, there wasn't much left by the time I got to eat.
But I actually liked MREs, especially after they came out with all the new flavors. Then again, I have enjoyed pizza over two weeks old.
But you make a good point. The criminal Bush corporate cabal CHOSE to go to war when they did. There was no pressing need to invade when we did, and they knew it, despite their propaganda. The cabal also underestimated the resistance. Total incompetence at the highest levels and our soldiers are paying the price in blood.

9. God, that is SO unacceptable! |
|
Our "leaders" send our fellow Americans to Iraq with nary a thought or plan for the future of the invasion. Now they are insufficiently armoured, and they can't even feed them decent meals? Makes me want to hurl at the incompetence of said "leaders". :puke: But none of this is really news, is it? I heard about the food shortages a couple of months ago.

11. Are we not paying Halliburton to feed the troops? |
|
Remember the story about the rotten food they were serving and then charging the govt something like $30.00 a day for each soldier served? I guess these guys need to understand what's really important - oil and profits. Also, this unit will probably be treated like shit the whole time they're over there. Rummy is notoriously vindictive.
