Mea Culpa. I broke my own rule and watched CNN.

Rev. Jesse Jackson was debating Jerry Falwell with Wolf Blitzer(sp?) moderating. (Son tells me it Wolf Blitzer, BTW, I can spell idiot.)

Rev. Jackson had some good framing. "Protect the fetuses, starve the children."

But the moderator seem unprepared to me. He couldn't challenge the spin or lies, if you will. His questions would have been good if he "knew" what he was talking about.

My favorite was when he asked Rev. Jackson about the Old Testament abolition about gays. The Old Testament has abolitions about everything, not just gays. From shellfish to working on the sabbath.

And looking at Falwell, I am going to have to look up what the Old Testament says about gluttony.

1. I'm afraid Falwell's smug, self-satisfied face will break my TV....because
the sight of him infuriates me so much, I'm afraid I'll throw something at the screen!...:puke:

3. The very fact that Falwell was on AT ALL
is reason to NEVER WATCH CNN- or support any of their affiliated businesses. Period. No excuses.

4. I watched too- hoping Jesse would weave in the election fraud.
After all, morality is related to truth and I continue to become enraged when they discuss that Bush won because of this issue since- well for one thing, Bush didn't win. Nor do people wait in line for up to 10 hours in freezing cold rain to vote because they are morally against gay people marrying. They stood in line because they wanted change. I don't understand why Jesse didn't swing the talk over to the immorality of millions of people being disenfranchised (never mind the rigging of the machines). m I being naive to believe that any time there is an opportunity for national exposure about the election fraud issue, it should be taken advantage of?

Al Sharpton was on CNN as well today and I watched that one too- in great hope that he would mention something about this but he never did.

I for one, was very disappointed in both of these generally outspoken leaders. But then again, I'm getting used to it these days. Not giving up hope, but feeling very disappointed in our leaders and as always, in the MSM.

Perhaps Jesse is laying low until tomorrow when the Kerry team files. Perhaps Mr. Sharpton knows something that we don't (and knows that it needs to be kept under the radar for a while).

Or, perhaps, election fraud and the fact that millions of people may not have had their votes count in the way that they intended, or may not have had the chance to vote at all, thereby bringing into question, the legitimacy of the election-- is not a major issue for them.

Time will tell.

5. Same Old Voices, Same Old Games
This was such a predictable "interview"...with Wolfie framing Fatwell as "the moral leader", and Jackson as the bafoon clown used to highlight the "librul" agenda. Jesse's become so minimalized in recent years (much to his own doing) and now plays foil to a corporate-orchestrated effort to portray disenters of this regime and it's policies as crazies and un-American/godly.

It would have been fun to see Wolfie bring Barry Lynn or a spokeperson from the UCC to go up against this blowhard rather than the usual frame-up situation, but CNNservative must continue it's Time-dictated mantra of sucking up to the regime while there's tax breaks, special interest perks and more deregulation to ram through. Play nice-nice with Karl and the boys and your perk gets moved to the front.

CNNservative holds zero credibility now as it's pro-regime agenda is so blatant it's not even worth discussing. I used to watch the network virtually 24/7 for nearly 20 years...not anymore. Now, it's only to re-confirm the right-wing bias it now represents.

7. I must say after watching Wolf Blitzer, he is soooo bad as a
moderator. He made no attempt at it. No hard questions. He looked totally inept. I have not watched much network news, none since the election, but if this is what passes as hard-hitting journalism, John Stewart was right. They need journalism school.

8. This is the new face of "journalism"
We no longer need to have facts, only opinions. That is, any number of television talking heads bring up item X and then bring in two folks, one on each side of the issue. Then the television talking head says nothing while the two pundits are allowed to spew whatever they wish. No facts are distributed... no citizens learn anything... it might as well be a football or basketball game.

9. The reli-right would only support (govt funded) prenatal care if
such health programs would be faith based.

That's how much they care about unborn human life.
