I saw Tom Brokaw the other day...
... equating the allusions that Michael Moore made in Farenheit 9/11 to the outward lies that the Swift Boat people popularized. I was in total disbelief. He tried to say that they balanced eachother out! Although, I believe that Moore does dishonestly cut some film in his favor, I hardly think that they are of the same level! I wonder if he is just lying to justify his position or if he actually believes that horseshit!?

1. Why waste good time on trying to figure out anything Brokaw says.
His credibility factor is zip, zero, nada.

2. The claims by the Swift Liars have been proven untrue ...
and unsupported by any evidence.

What assertions in Fahrenheit 9-11 do you consider "allusions?"

That the Bushes are in bed with the Saudis?
That Iraq was better off WITH Saddam?
That Iraq had no WMD?
That the military is populated by people from lower-income backgrounds?

No thinking person can believe that lies are balanced by documented facts. If he really stated something to that effect,he has truly become a propagandist.

11. personally...
I think that Michael Moore connected some facts only with circumstancial evidence. I believe that are probably true, it's just that they can't be completely proven. I'm not trashing Moore, I support him fully.

5. By Brokaw's logic... 2+2=5
If Michael Moore said that 2+2=4 and the SBV come out and said that 2+2=6. Brokaw, with his "high-powered" intellect and willingness to compromise would then say that 2+2=5.

9. I heard him say the same thing on the radio, and he was really emotional..
...like he really believed what he was saying.

I was thinking, "what lies?" I've honestly not seen one substantiated allegation of a lie in F9/11 whereas, those swift boaters were totally full of shit.

Brokaw said this at a sympiosium run by the New Yorker, IIRC. He sounded so incredibly stupid. He was absurdly claiming that the swift boat lies were a fair balance to F9/11 and that is why it was OK that the news repeated the lies as if they were news for a month before asking questions about whether they were true and what might be the motivations of the swift boaters.
