Nicki, where are you ???!! She might be dead..in Phuket..................

We are so devastated, our son is here from Germany for Christmas.
His best friend's sister went to Phuket, Thailand with her friend.
This is a very popular area to do vacation for Germans.

They both were swept away, she(the friend) survived,got somehow a Swiss guy to call from a survivors camp home to Germany, now nobody knows where Nicki is. Her friend said she was swept away from her.
She has a broken wrist and a broken foot and has a high fiver, she is not capable of telling anything more (the Swiss guy said she is in pain and shock).

Our family was in such a good spirit for this Christmas day.
My children come over every year for Christmas.

Now we bow our heads and pray, even though we are no muster-Christians!
Can you imagine, what we all think..............she might swept away and survived somewhere..................God help us to find Nicki

I keep having to read the updates and am desperately hoping a lot of those missing folk will turn up. It is chaos there right now and understandable if some people are unable to make communciation with us. Let's keep hoping.

7. Tommy is Nickie's brother

they where born 10 month apart, so they grew up like twins.

My son is extremely connected to them, because Nicky is lesbian and Tommy is gay. Their parents try to ignore the reality.
He, like me, we take care and support those our best friends, doesn't matter what their lifestyle is.

Now Tommy needs to find Nicky!!!!

I don't know how to pray, please my friends.........do it for me,let's try to find Nickie

10. We always think at "Breaking News"

it's somewhere else....................

But then it hits you in family.............we are not thinking about Nicky, we are thinking about all this unspeakable tragedy, how can I believe in God..........I don'tknow... how I can get access to god!

I pray every night for my simple wishes...like, let my children stay healthy and so on.................


and the comes this "hammer". How in the world can I still trust this good old man in heaven.........for what is it necessary to send all these young men to "hell"..............

There can't be a God if he is allowing all these very unfair catastrophies.................and don't tell me, that he sends us tests!!!

13. Dear elf

I'm not religious at all. I can't speak about a God with any conviction. I have no profound wisdom to offer.

I do believe in hope, though. The hope that lives inside us all and causes people to do the most extraordinary things to help others. Keep the wishes in your heart alive. Nurture them. For those wishes can make a difference. When we reach out to others and learn we share the same hopes, the same wishes, we find that we are not alone in a world where bad things happen. We find a world where people do care.

It doesn't stop the bad things from happening but it does make the passage through life more hopeful.

You'll be in my thoughts.

Nicki is in my thoughts. We have only hope at this point. My father was a political prisoner for more than a decade in a brutal country. We had no idea if he was dead or alive. I as a child had hope insided of me that was stronger than the fear. He came out of jail.

You have every right to feel this way. I sure would.

One hopeful piece is that the person that she was with survived, so it could be that Nicki did, too. I can only imagine how messed up lines of communication must be over there right now, so maybe she just can't get a call out.

17. Elf... I replied to you in the other thread where you spoke

of Nicki, too. I am very saddened to hear this, and will say a prayer for Nicki. I'm not a Christian, but I do pray, in my own way.

We are also anxiously awaiting news of friends of ours who are vacationing in Thailand. We think they were likely in Bangkok or in the northern area of the country and not near the coast, but we know nothing for sure at this point.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this terrible disaster...
