Dean says he has to watch his mouth
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A31992-2003Sep5?language=printer

"I can get snippy," he said, "no doubt about it."

"I wish he'd say to my face what he says behind my back," Dean said before disappearing behind the door, a grimace on his face.

you know folks I just love this guy, I mean even if he lost the election I would still love to see bush get his ass handed to him by this MAN. to me this is what the dems need to wake their asses up.

2. Me too!
Who wants a self-concious moron! Yea, we can handle the truth....It is suggestive that he is in touch with the people. We open our mouths, don't we....

4. At least he's not calling a reporter an "asshole" like * did.
Where was the outrage? None! Free pass again.

5. I agree that Dean's aggressiveness and snipyness is part of his charm
and a source of his effectiveness. A guy who is aggressive,
snippy, and sometimes sincerely upset, AND AT THE SAME TIME
can keep the train of his argument on track, will win every
time. In table format:

              | Snippy | Mellow
--------------+---------+----------
Sharp/Smart | Dean |
--------------+---------+----------
Dull/Stupid | | Bush
--------------+---------+----------

Shrub couldn't be snippy if he tried.

6. I love what comes out of his mouth no matter how
snippy. Why doesn't anyone tell Bush to watch his mouth. Or is drool too hard to stop.

7. I love it too.
Love the fastballs, love the snippy comments, love how he makes me laugh and cry and jump for joy.

Love the way he respects his wife and his fierce protectiveness of his family. Love how he told a booing crowd to give Christy Todd Whitman a break because she "had a tough job" (what a gentleman!).

This man is a terrific father and husband and embodies everything I have ever hoped to have in a president and more. I am so proud of him and what he is accomplishing.

Lastly, I also love his beautiful blue eyes. sigh.

9. It's his 'snippiness' and
straight-forward speaking that has changed politics into a sport for me. I now follow politics like I'm watching a football game...cheering and hollering, wanting instant replays, stats on the 'players', and scores.

11. LOL! Politics definetly got more interesting with Dean around!
I wasn't paying attention to him until Gore announced he wasn't going to run! :-) And then about a half an hour later after I recovered from the "punch to the stomach"...I started lookin' at Dean and have been on Ship ever since!

Dean had the neatest ..most poignant thing to say about Gore at the time(I don't have it now) and made me feel better immediately!

How's that for getting steered in the right direction? :-)

14. Your post reminds me of one of my favorite
posts to the blog. I love the way this woman tells her story:

Lori, September 4, 2003
I got interested in Howard Dean one day many months ago when I was half watching a televised candidate forum, half reading the newspaper. Blah blah blah blah blah blah came from the TV. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a voice answering "no, and here's why not ...." I nearly fell off the couch! I looked up, and it was Howard Dean. I'd never heard a politician just answer the goddam question before. They all seem to just launch into their favorite spiels -- maybe somewhere in there is an answer, but by the time they get to it we're all asleep.

10. Ridiculous the notion that politics should be pc
Dean is liked because he speaks his mind and lets it be known where he stands. The other contenders, with the exception of DK, play both sides of the fence, gambling with their personas. Sick and tired of pols who play the old pop game. This guy is a 'real' American patriot who doesn't play around with cowboy boots, redwhite&blue, religiousity and false impressions.

He did not call anyone a bad name or criticise their mothers. Bush probably says a lot worse in his time.
