How will George W. Bush be remembered as a President?....
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 03:24 PM by Dawgs
This link is from a message board I attend regularly. It is the website for the University of Georgia football fans. After seeing the headline of the initial thread I thought I would surely see many disgusting and outrageous posts. I was pleasantly surprised when I found so many Bush haters thinking like I think. Don't forget that this is a Georgia site(very red state).

My favorite is "Looking forward to simply "remembering" him ---------------------> *"

You can probably figure out which one is mine.

Iraq had No WMD!!
No connection between Iraq and 9/11.
10'000s of innocenct Iraqi civilians dead.
80% of the rest of the world hates Bush and now America for voting him back into office.
Largest deficit in American history.
No new NET jobs.
Abortion is on the rise, while under Clinton it was lowest in thirty years.
9/11 was on his watch.
Country has never been more divided.
Poverty still on the rise.
etc, etc, etc...

These are facts folks. You can pretend he kicks a** and does what's best for the country, but we are going in the wrong direction. There are only two groups of people that wanted this man re-elected, right-wing America and the terrorists.

Stop watching FOX and do your own research.

6. ..And this is supposed to be a UNIVERSITY of Georgia site??
Christ...the majority of posters sound like they're still in 6th grade.

Every time I go to another forum on the web, I'm amazed by how much DU is WAY over the other forums...No comparison

They incorporated him into their "I'm feeling lucky" search.

Type in 'miserable failure' on Google and then click 'I'm feeling lucky' and waalaa, the truth is told. And guess who that miserable failure is? :)

I think those 2 words pretty much sum up how this digrace we call Bush & Cheney will be remembered very well :)

I need to see more boards like this so I can have a good long laugh at the hopelessly jaded and easily manipulated of this country.

16. It's nice to see the word retard in use again.
For a while it was absent from DU - but it's the best word to describe bush. Although my personal favorite is "fucktard" - which combines fucking and retard in one simple term. It's an economical way of telling everyone how stupid that fucktard is.

17. Yours is the most intelligent post on there
and naturally, the lemmings debate it with nothing but hatred and stupidity like the tired "liberal media" canard . . .GOD I'm so sick of hearing that shit. Tell that dumbass the media is not "liberal" when it is owned, and has it's news filtered, by war profiteers like GE and right-leaning greedmongers like Summer Redstone, Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch.

15. "With regret." The more education someone has, the more likely
they will be to have NOT voted for Bush. A sad testiment to the 2004 election. A 60% vote turnout meant that only about 30% of the voting public cast a ballot for Bush, about the same for Kerry 29% and over 40% didn't even bother to vote at all...

23. Who's "George W Bush"? Do we have a President any more?
I heard we have a new office called "Preznit" and it's filled by a mentally ill chimp. Apparently someone made a bet that "people" the US wouldn't vote for a chimp - who knew!

24. I think Nixon's standard answer is the correct one
It depends on who is writing the history. If it is some right wing historian they will probably rank Bush highly. A liberal historian will rank him very low. A more middle of the road historian will probably say "he was an important figure of his times and his actions had wide ranging consequences--both for good or bad." My view is that most historians will slobber over his response over 9/11, he will be viewed as important since he bagan "the war on terror" and he "won" re-election. But the bottomline is this--was this country better off after four years of his incompetence? less jobs, more debt, higher poverty. Is the world safer due to his "war on terror" that seems to be clearly "No". Was the Iraqi invasion worth the cost in both lives and capital? absolutely not.
