The only action that will be effective is massive, unified action
If we want to be heard, we must all lock arms.

We need a single person or group who will direct our efforts, and we need to pledge to unanimously follow that direction and not let each other down.

5. But how? On what grounds? Using what methods?
What's your goal? Impeachment? Coup d'etat? What? ARe you suggesting general strike?

Your call is stirring, but short on specifics.

9. What's To Stop Us?
NormaR-

I admire your enthusiasm and share it. I day dream that everyone willing to defend our democracy would unite. I'm not convinced Americans are willing to do this. I'm not really sure anyone has a plan for what we would do if we were united.
I'm guilty of inaction. My email is stuffed daily with petitions and letter writing campaign requests. I respond to several of the issues (election fraud, environment, government secrecy, media reform) but it would be a full time job to follow them all.
I've attended protests, rallies, meet ups and party forums but none of them were all on the same page. If I was paranoid, I'd believe there was a conspiracy to neutralize activists by piece mealing them to death.

There is no unified front.

The Democrat party should be playing that role, but I fear they have compromised themselves out of the loop. Choosing a new leader for the party won't save us from the performance of our elected. A new presidential contender could emerge out of the minority, but it will only happen now if someone stands against the opposition and earns our respect. Americans liberals are in no mood to tolerate weakness. If the democrats become more like the republicans, they will effectively humiliate themselves into non-existence.

What might be realistic is a coalition of all the liberal groups. There is a way for an organization like that to get the message out. We are already in communication with each other through email. It would be a matter of getting the organizers of those groups together on a common agenda. If there was such a group, there is no question that the democrat party would follow.
