2004 Earthquakes are similar to those in 1906 |
|
Remember the San Francisco Earthquake in 1906? That year there were many earthquakes and tsunamis, too. This new pattern is much the same. And if the pattern continues things will get worse.
I will have to go back and find this link. It is a very interesting comparison.

http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/eqlists/eqsmajr.htmlThere were two earthquakes with magnitude greater than 8.0 in South America during 1906. They can occur in clusters.

3. How do you arrive at a pattern? |
|
Do you have any data to back up your assertion that there is a pattern?

4. it wasn't my assertion - but an article I read today |
|
that now seems to have disappeared.
There have been a lot of tectonic events this year but nothing like this one in the Indian Ocean. China and Japan have both had multiple events.
The writer was saying that the same thing happened in 1906. There was a lot of activity all at once.
I'm still looking for the article. Maybe it has come and gone by now.
