History and Politics of Pot on History Channel now
it's been on about 1/2 hour, I was in kitchen so missed some, but part of the reason they made it illegal during the depression was to get rid of all the migrant Mexican workers that were no longer needed, since so many of the Americans were unemployed....I wonder why * wants the Mexican workers again? Hmmmm...

1. There's a great documentary called "Grass".
It deals mainly with the propaganda surrounding cannibus in the US. Very interesting how the govt.'s message changed over the good part of a century.

2. I did a history paper in school about pot once ..Hey I got an A
In California at the turn of the century 1900
California's number one agricultural product
was Industrial Hemp. Pot basically held up our
economy here . Once prohibition on hemp was enacted
enforcement was difficult and to this day , pot
is California's number one agriculture product only
now it's a black market industry so the state doesn't
benefit from any sales tax on it .

that's what I remember from the report .

3. proud can i add this....
during the war years 1942-45 marijuana was an unsung hero by many standards, despite the marijuana tax act of 1937 our government saw the merits of marijuana.products like hemp, canvas, oils and hundreds of more uses check www.hightimes.com.each year of the war our government asked our farmers to grow by the thousands of acres marijuana and double that the following years, our government created a short film extolling the virtues of marijuana called"hemp for victory".to me the greatest aspect of marijuana is its free and renewable,i could go on but i digress..:toast:
