Has the wikipedia been hacked?????? Susan Sontags page...

I was just doing a search for information on Susan Sontag and was shocked when after googling her name and then going to the wikipedia link that there were medical photograhs of male & female genitalia....and also, all the personal information about the founder of the wikipedia and saying that he is a "pornographer"

i am sure many people are researching Ms. Sontag and i think it is sad that someone seemingly has hacked her page, perhaps because of her comments after 9-11.

is there anyway to contact someone so they can correct this page?

and the personal information about the creator of it and the inference that he is a pornographer, is well....

i am constantly amazed at the lack of respect and immaturity in some people :( it is beyond my comprehension....

anyway, thanks for letting me know, i didn't realize that anyone can alter things in the wikipedia....

I think Wikipedia keeps a cache of previous pages, so removing such vandalism is pretty easy.

They appear to be using a public proxy.

It looks like the page has been fixed (though you can still see the defaced version in the Wikipedia history of the article.) Perhaps some people are seeing stale pages on mirror sites which have not been updated yet.
