This Ship Naming Stuff is BS!

I don't think we take this ship naming stuff seriously enough. This is taxpayer funded advertisement for the repukes for up to 50 years!! It is not only that, but the whole time I was on the ship named for Reagan, it was daily qoutes from him in the POD, Ball caps with his name plastered on it, etc. Not to mention the fact that for 50 years we will have to hear; "the USS RONALD REAGAN is on station off the coast of (insert 3rd world country) defending liberty and freedom.

Name ships after states. Name them after obscure figures from 200 years ago, but do NOT name them after living presidents.

For you freepers, surprise, there is a USS JIMMY CARTER. It is a submarine named after a man who was a "true" naval hero. There is also a FDR.

I think they should only name stuff like ships after people when they have been dead for 50 years or more.
