What wrong with a good 'Republican' conspiracy theory?
I have listened to conspiracy theories about Democrats, created by Republicans, for 20+ years. It is a powerful form of propaganda and they use it well. They have created so many conspiracy theories that it would be impossible to list them all.

The right takes pride in creating conspiracy theories about Democrats. Why shouldn't we use the same propaganda back at them? I think it is sorta fun myself. But, some here get really angry any time we do it back at them. Seems like they are protecting the repukes sometimes to me.

What's the deal? Why not give them back some of their own medicine? Conspiracy theories everywhere is what I say!

1. I can think of two.
1. We can go up to Republicans and tell them our conspiracy theories about them, but they're the first to know that we're wrong. It's like when they tell us we wanna teach kids to be gay - we just think that's stupid.
2. We generally don't need to make up reasons that involve hidden agendas of the opposition to get people to think our policies make sense. Conspiracy theories are basically an admission that your policies are the lesser of two evils.

4. 'but they're the first to know that we're wrong'

That doesn't seem to stop them.

Imagine the fun you could have telling them a nutty conspiracy theory right to their face and watching them go through contortions trying to explain it away as you take the other side. Fun for hours the way I see it.

5. Fun...
...but completely counterproductive.

I plan on never voting Republican for the rest of my life due to the fact that I think they're lies are deserving of nothing less than having their party completely crumble to it's destruction and all it's members never being able to get elected to any sort of office. Your plan basically does the same for the other side.

2. They are a 'conspiracy'
The info is out there.
It's just that the Republican friendly-corporate media won't run with any of it.
You here glimpses on progs like Air America or the Jones Network but that is such a small fraction compared to the mainstream-rightwing-echo machine.

3. I agree 100%
I'm actually getting tired of the "let's not say anything bad about them so we can look better" crowd. We've rolled over long enough. It's time to fight back, I say let's fight fire with fire!

6. it depends on the conspiracy theory I guess

If the conspiracy theory is particularly looney, it will just make us look bad. Plus, plenty of the conspiracy theories about the GOP - they looked the other way while their political allies sold drugs in the US, they had advance warnings of a 911 type attack and did nothing - are at least half true, and provable.

7. The thing about RW conspiracy theories
is we only need to tell the truth. While Rush, Hannity et al are out there spreading lies about us we can say that the "President"'s grandfather supported the nazis and was nearly indicted under the trading with enemies act. Or that a group of right wing businessmen approached Smedley Butler about leading a coup to overthrow FDR. Or that Dick Cheney et al, through PNAC have been advocating the remaking of the Middle East at least since Bush I lost reelection. Hell, we probably don't even need to get into 9/11/01 LIHOP or MIHOP, altough they are also fair game in my opinion.
