Catch 22 for Demo congressmen
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 12:46 PM by Syncronaut Seven
Miss the opportunity to stand up for democracy on Jan 6 & a sizeable chunk of the Democratic electorate will never vote for them again.

-OR-

Take a stand for democracy and lose all those Republican votes.

Man, What a dilemma.

Edit:Spelling

Future edit, Loss of congressional seats in '06

3. VERY few Republicans vote for Democrats
However MANY Democrats vote for Republicans.

The Republicans are very well disciplined as a party and their voters remain loyal. It is a mistake for Dems to taylor their message to Republican voters. It alienates people like me that's for sure. I want someone who will stand up for working people not corporations.

6. There will be a "Roll Call of SHAME"...
...for Democratic Senators who don't STAND UP to protest the BOGUS election.

I WILL POST their NAMES, and will keep posting their NAMES.

7. I don't expect any of them to challenge the election
So, you had better start writing down the names of the Democratic senators....once again disenfranchised voters, white and black (but primarily black), will be stabbed in the back by those who claim to represent them.

This just may be the nail in the coffin for many people. I know blacks voted in large numbers for Kerry but some I talked to expressed reluctance at supporting the Dems after they did little to challenge the 2000 election and the debacle in Florida.

There is much anger out there at how black votes are seen as being taken for granted. Here is an opportunity for Democratic senators to stand up for black people. Will they step up to the plate? I don't think so. They are more interested in maintaining the status quo, after all it works well for them (most if not all senators are millionaires) than making the system work for everyone.

9. Very SAD!!!
I hope Michael Moore and others are there with their cameras rolling to record the SHAME!!!

I don't think that the election would be overturned, but STANDING would do a few things :

1) The protest would be entered in the Official Record, and would forever append the asterik (*) to bush*s name for the History Books.

2) (more importantly) It would shine a bright light on the sad state of Vapor Balloting and Privatized Vote Counting!

3) It would provide a rallying point for Democrats to begin behaving like an opposition Party.

4) It would provide a modicum of respect for our Democratic Representatives, and would be a baby step in rebuilding some faith in our system.

5) If they DON'T STAND, millions (myself) will abandon the Democratic Party. If they remain in shameful silence, the Democratic Party will be signing their own Death Warrant.

8. It's a false delemma
If the Democrats don't take a stand for democracy they will lose "all those Republican votes" anyway through rigged elections in the future.

Seems like a no-brainer to me - fight for democracy or get "voted out" for being a Democrat in a Triad/Diebold controlled state.

I can't see any honest Republican (yes, some are actually honest albeit stupid Republicans) voting against someone for standing up for democracy in America. If they didn't really value democracy Bush wouldn't be able to get away with selling them on his "bringing democracy to the middle east" canard.
