I've decided to start calling the GOP, "Bumper Sticker Patriots"
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 07:51 PM by BattyDem

They are really great about putting American flags on their cars, or little signs that say "Freedom isn't free" or "Support our troops" ...

but when it comes to REALLY doing something that will help the troops, strengthen this country, protect our Democracy or preserve our Constitution, they don't lift a finger!

The Right Wing may have great slogans ... but the Left Wing knows that words without action are meaningless.

1. Words Without Action Are Meaningless
would make a good sticker, with lines like this added:

how much money have you sent to support your local troops?

how many of your family members have volunteered for service?

3. Great Idea
We have to start telling the ugly dirty truth about them.

Bumper sticker patriots is abolutely simple and articulate
enough to get a powerful point across.

6. Apparently not ...
Today, I saw a HUGE SUV with "Freedom Isn't Free" on the bumper. It also had the mandatory "W" on it, as well as a flag, a "Support the Troops" ribbon and some other stickers about guns, Liberals and Jesus. The damn thing looked like a billboard with wheels! :eyes:

8. Nice!
I also like "Faux Patriots".

(I have to take credit for it myself :) Actually, someone else may have also come up with it somewhere, esp due to the delicious (!) association to the Faux network it conjures up, but I have not seen it anywhere ;-))
