Paducah...friend to artists.. What an interesting idea they have
I watched a program on PBS tonight about it. Apparently artists can get houses there for next to nothing, get 100% low (sometimes ZERO interest) renovation loans for old historic homes .

The program has been very successful, and people have moved there from all over the country.

I know it's Kentucky,, but it sound like an offer lots of people could not refuse.

The only troubling thing that they did NOT go into was where the people who rented those places went.. They are houses in a blighted area, but where houses had lots of character, and needed TLC and lots of repairs. Most were owned by slumlords, so I would assume that "eminent domain" played out here, but the area is flourishing these days

from google....about the program
