What does DNC REALLY stand for?
Here's a few ideas of mine, considering their excellent demonstration of spinelessness on more than once occassion:

Does Not Care

Damn Nutless Cowards

Damn No Conscience

Defeats No Corporatists

Defends No Cause

Any other ideas?

5. Well, the DNC IS the party.

(all of us).

Perhaps you mean the DLC, which is a faction within the DNC.

9. "Well, the DNC is NOT the party."
It is the Democratic National Committee. We all maybe the Democratic party, but the committee that runs the show(into the ground). Until we can get the leaders of the National party begin to care about standing up for something substantial it's going to be hard to accomplish anything.

13. You are incorrect.
The Democratic National Committee is the official name of the party. I am a member of the party, therefore a member of the DNC. I am not a member of the DLC. (I think you may have to be invited to that anyway.)

If you mean to refer to the leadership of the party, you can do so. As it stands, you are referring to the whole party.

Other than that, I agree with you.

16. I just don't know who you are referring to as the "DNC" if
it isn't me. I am the DNC. I am a Democrat. Granted, I am not in a leadership position, but if that is who you have a problem with, then let's hassle them. I, as a member of the Party, and therefore a member of the DNC, am doing everything I know and am capable of to make the DNC more progressive. I can be just as critical of the Dem Party as anybody, but in the end, the Dem party is US. I mean, you're either in or you're out, right? If you are out, who are you? Who are you with?

18. On that we agree.
We happen to be at a moment where you can make a difference. Send a letter expressing your feelings to as many of these as you can:

Feb. 12 election for new DNC chair. If it's Tim Roemer, the party goes one way. if it's Dean, it goes another. The others are somewhere in between I think. And let me tell you; if it's Roemer, well, I just don't like to think about that future.

8. I love all of those
as well as the ones in the responses. I wish I was that creative.

We are all the Democratic party, (those of us who are registered as Democrats anyway), we are not the DNC however. They represent the decisionmaking leadership and the rest of us seem to have precious little influence with them.
