1. LOL . . .
They try to portray a moonlanding by the Confederacy? Even in an alternate reality where the Confederacy won, they would have become a separate nation, this means that the majority of science and technology, along with the majority of institutes of higher learning would have remained in the United States.

Had the Confederacy won, all they would have won is their plantations and . . . . well, that's about it.

The majority of industry, education, science, etc. came from the North.

5. In all honesty, you should quote the poster's ultimate thought. . .
"Some things are better left dead in the past:"

6. isn’t there something inherently un-American in celebrating
a failed insurrection & treasonous rebellion against our government? Epically for people who seem to think that any questioning of our government is un-American?

:)

7. What a joke. They are so ignorant,
they "celebrate the Confederacy", yet also proudly claim membership in the republican party, the party that "reconstructed" the south.

Not the brightest people around, generally speaking.

10. I know. These "wedge issue" threads at FR
are the stuff of high hilarity. There's always one or two rational voices who are desperately trying to talk sense into the others, but are shouted down by the majority. Check out any of the evolution/creationist threads at FR for some good laughs.

We may have won the battle in 1861-1865, but the South has won the war. Fly you beautiful bastard fly!

12. As long threatened, the South has risen from the grave.
Maybe next time we'll take a page from all those zombie movies and shoot it through the brain.

14. My "favorite" so far. "for some [slavery has] turned out to be a blessing"
To: Restorer

:snip:

shame how so many folks under middle aged think slavery is the worst thing ever foisted on mankind...for some it's turned out to be a blessing.
