I had to turn off Larry King (repeat) with Bush and Clinton...
It was clear in the first couple of answers that all this "coordination" was Clinton's idea, as he first expressed it when in London last Sunday.

Seeing that smarmy Bush I talking about all this really almost made me puke. And, he's still commenting about how Clinton beat him in '92. And then Clinton reveals that Condi called him and he talked to Andy Card....great, while Ohio goes down the tubes.

Sorry, I just can't stand it. Malloy went off on this tonight and I agree with him, esp. after watching this bit of King. Bushco DISSED Clinton last week, and now are happy to co-opt his idea....and Clinton enables Bush, gives him crediblity. Graceful, but when has Bush been graceful...esp after allowing his spokesperson PUBLICLY diss Clinton and his "feel your pain" style.

Damn, I wish Clinton had simply worked through his foundation. Malloy is very pissed over the tie between Clinton and Bush.

And, I do find this getting to be displayed too often to make me entirely comfortable.

1. Clinton might want to be Secretary General of the UN...
in 2006. And if he wants that, he's gonna need Bush's support, or at least, Bush to not actively campaign against him.

2. Me , too. I haven't recovered from Clinton's stop whining remark after the
election! And then the library renmark. Duers really jumped my case for saying he didn't have to go that far. I have lost a lot of respect for Clinton! I wish him the best but I don't think he is on our side. At least not mine. He has been cushy above and beyond with Bushco. I wonder why? May be thire is a reasonable explanation, but I haven't stumbled on it. I am very disappointed. There is NO reason to praise Bush when he is wrong!

3. Bush Sr. looked worried as hell
being next to Clinton, as usual. I think it's actually a back-handed way for Clinton to lead the Bushies around by the nose. It wasn't until Clinton spoke out that the Bushies did anything --as you said, it was Clinton's idea to have the US pay a larger role.

Although I do agree: Clinton is entirely too Presidential around the Bushies. The Bushies are just dirtbaggers (apologies to other dirtbags). You're right about Bush never being graceful about Clinton, but it's painfully obvious that he can't compare to him, so he pulls his arrogant act. W is that way with everybody, though -- even the American public. He's incompetent, so he has to compensate by being a swaggering wanna-be cowboy. Bush Sr. is simply intimidated by the Big Dog. Nothing new there, really.

I think the GOP is just as pissed about Clinton leading this effort, making Bush look like an incompetent, un-caring jerk (oh wait, he is). Clinton showing up is a clear thumbs-down to the W Administration, that's why Daddy was sent to follow him around.

7. well, on winger AM radio today
Michael Savage (sp?) (I know, I know -- just had the AM station on over the weekend for football). He was saying he was very upset with W for allowing Clinton to get involved, and he was takiing calls from other wingnuts who were complaining about Clinton. Then they started calling people names and I turned the channel, but it did give me a smirk to hear that Clinton was getting under their skin and that he totally steals the stage wherever he shows up.

6. Clinton knew what he was talking about, unlike Bush 41, who was
probably winging it. It reminded me of their debates a decade ago.
