thanks for the reminder on the Russert repeat w/Krugman...
Heis brilliant and yes, Tim is letting him just talk his stuff.

He just mentioned Norquist's theory of "shrinking gov't to such sn extent that you could drown it in the bathtub." Told Tim "this isn't conspiracy, they are very open about their intentions."

But here's the kicker. PK went on to say "Who knows what Bush understands in terms of what his tax policies are doing. Norquist and the rest of them who are promoting these policies certainly know, but it's not clear if Bush understands what these policies mean."

I am paraphrasing above, but that is essentially what Krugman is saying.

What a banner day!!! Krugman spelling it out on the economy and Dean telling California "don't be part of the anti-democracy movement of the right wing of the Republican Party- this is the 4th election they've tried to steal since 2000."

Yeah!!!

1. I even understood everything he said. Ha Ha.
He has a way of making financial things clear to me. He does not talk down. I was very impressed.

2. Exactly...
Which is probably why he has a decent readership....

Wow, he just referred to "right-wing nonsense" that we are trapped in, in our country....

At least he admits he is a "free-trader...but..." I can deal with that, and I think that is how a lot of us feel. Not total free-market whackos but not protectionist either.

Is there a problem with that position??

6. I think consumer confidence would skyrocket upward if
Krugman would take Greenspan's job.

4. Paul said...
The Bushies intended all along to gut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid by bankrupting the economy.

7. Powerful statement.
But didn't it ever occur to them that the results would be so devastating and shocking to the public that a backlash would occur that would result in more regulation at the public's request? Or did they hope to continue counting on the race division for Republican votes?

If so, what went terribly wrong for them? The neo-cons overreached?
