Anyone catch Powells lies on Meet the Press?
http://www.freewilliamsburg.com/archives/2005/01/at_least_he_doe.html#more

"In case you missed Meet the Press Sunday, Colin Powell was noticeably caught off-guard when questioned about the government's plan to put into place "long-range plans for indefinitely imprisoning suspected terrorists whom they do not want to set free or turn over to courts in the United States."

Here's the transcript:

MR. RUSSERT: There's a front-page report in The Washington Post today that the administration is considering a prison to detain alleged terrorists where they do not have enough evidence to bring them to prosecution. What's your role in that and do you seem...
SEC'Y POWELL: I am not familiar with that and I can't talk to it.
MR. RUSSERT: The State Department is involved.
SEC'Y POWELL: I just don't have the facts on that one.
MR. RUSSERT: Why would the United States detain people for life without bringing them to trial?
SEC'Y POWELL: I have no information on this one, Tim.

Well, since you don't seem to know what's going on in your own department, Colin, here's today's Washington Post article below:

1. As was said many years ago in Pogo;
"We have met the enemy and he is us!"

Note: Pogo is or was a comic strip. I haven't read the comics in years so I'm not sure if it is still being drawn.

3. Pogo was drawn by Walt Kelly, he's been dead many many years now.
I loved that strip.

6. So did I
Somewhere along the line from there to here, I seem to have wandered from what is truly important. A sense of humor. Not that I don't laugh, I still enjoy the Three Stooges.

I loved the way they could screw up any situation.

Oops, that COULD refer to almost any 3 people in the present cabinet. All the "slapstick" without the humor.

2. Powell has already checked out.

He's left the building. He doesn't give a shit and that's Condi's problem now. Let her answer that question after she's sworn in. Answering that question is a lose-lose situation for him.

4. Speaking of checked out
Why is Colin Powell traveling to Asia and not Condileza Rice? Where is she? Shouldn't she be the one leading the aid effort, since she will be in charge shortly?

Just wondering

7. If you believe BushCo
...none of them know what's going on and haven't from day one. It's always Someone Else who makes the bad decisions, Someone Else who gives them bad intelligence, Someone Else who makes them look bad. Just ask them! Gee, maybe BushCo is the victim of a conspiracy theory!!
