At least that is what you would think if you watched the liberal media the last three days.

Look it is great that they finally got going on this and the helicopters are apparently vital to the effort BUT...

They could have gotten W sobered up quicker and got their polling on how to handle this done quicker the 'copters would have been flying days ago.

This also appears to be a "Hey look your son might NOT be in Iraq if you joins" recruiting poster.

The images of a town of people rushing out to hopefully get a box of cookies is at one time touching but at another time sad. But hey they are FINALLY getting something.

W signed up Dad and Bill to go out and raise money as he just doesn't have the time in his busy schedule to do something like that ....nor has he ever. :eyes:

Again good for the US military but they take orders they don't set the agenda, Cheney does.

3. "Relief is FINALLY getting to tsunami victims in South Asia..."
(cut to footage of US Navy helicopter dropping food)

That is pretty much the leadin to every story now.

13. from(crickets chirping) and now we're SPEARHEADING the "rescue"
They are an amazingly media-savvy bunch..

at first it was all about "Where is the USA"?
then we were 'assessing the damage"
the...we wer "forming a coalition of aid"
and NOW..we are the SPEARHEAD...

*² DISCOVERED the technique for aiding in disasters:puke:

and all over the news today???

the abuse of children there for the SEX trade
the arrows fired at rescue helicopters
the heroic efforts to remove a disabled plane
talk everywhere downplaying the numbers of Americans killed/missing

The WH is working its "magic' again..

before long they will have spun it so that ALL Americans who died, either choked on a pina colada or died while rescuing some poor Indonesian...

Yeah I was wondering when they would get around to the sex trade (pssst they were unholy Muslim whores and they deserved it pass it on) and it is an issue that needs light shown on it.

2. actually, without the US military
relief was getting to major airports in south east asia, but only a tiny trickle was getting to the outlying areas. The US hasthe airlift capacity to help people in unreachable areas, Indonesia certainly doesn't.

and the military was reacting before chimpy made his speeches. It is easy to get materiel to airports, much harder to get it into places where roads and rail have been destroyed. That takes heavy helicopters, and no one in South East Asia has enough capacity to make a real difference, compared to the US effort here.

not to defend Bush, he reacted way too slowly, but the US support is needed and effective.

4. I know but they are completely covering for W
they include a picture of him right after the 'copter shot (see above) in every story I have seen.

Yes aid starting coming in like *THAT* (not that it was or will be reported that way) and the military did go into action before W finally got on TV but the media is trying to re-instill the STRONG LEADER image of W.

8. although I agree with your general concetp
I, for one, think that after an initial stumble, bush has actually rallied to do the right thing here. It pains me to say it, but thre it is.

11. since it takes a finite amount of time
to assemble the aid, put in on planes or ships, send it half-way around the world from Europe and it took roughly that same amount of time for Bush to wake up and say something....well, applying the fallacy of post hoc ergo propter hoc it's *obvious* that our compassionate leader caused the aid to flow.

I sometimes try to get into an ultra-conservative mindset to see if I can understand some of the rightwing reasoning, but my brain starts to hurt after a few minutes.

12. post hoc ergo propter hoc
That made MY brain hurt and I don't even know what it means

Very good point though. It would have arrived (the mass that is now) whether the US had given $4 Million (the actual original amount pledged) or the $14 Million they raised it too or the $35 Million they thought would cover their earlier miserly estimate OR the $350 Million they got pushed into pledging.
