La. din. party wants no aid to go to tsunami cause they have wrong god

From Our Mailbox

New Year's Eve I attended a dinner party and ... during a discussion of the tsunami disaster, a person stood and declared, "The US should not get involved in aid to those people, because that disaster is God's message to those heathens that they are worshipping the wrong god." And the most stunning part is that this was the general consensus at the table of about 30 persons ...

1. Shocking, isn't it?
Next time there's a hurricane in Florida, let's say it's God's way of telling them that they picked a false Christian for governor and president.
Same with those twisters in those red states.

8. I can't speak for everyone, but when I was in Florida
I worshipped sun, hot naked flesh and cold drinks.

We had hellacious worship services, too.

:)

3. I guess the 4 hurricanes that hit Florida were different.
They showed how God favors right-wing Republicans.

7. Clearly these bozos weren't watching CBS News
when they aired a story about a Christian church in Phuket on Sunday. What, exactly, was god's message to those non-heathens? Or, could it be that by "heathens" they really meant "little brown people"?

Seriously, Ken, get thyself to a different party. There are plenty of people in N'awlins -- most of them, in fact -- who walk upright and can spell "CBS" without help. These louts remind of the "people" from whom I used to have to defend women's clinics down there. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it were some of the same ones, in fact.

10. Sometimes I wish I believed in a god
Just so I could watch the stunned looks on the faces of these folks when their god tells them to leave their winterwear behind in the afterlife. At least they would enjoy the company of their presidents.
