1. Thank you!!
I have been looking for this list; so glad you posted it. I think it would be a worthwhile effort to contact these groups and ask them to make a matching donation to tsunami relief.

2. Excellent idea drpdx!
I will be contacting the donors to request the matching donation. While we're at it, let's ask them to donate to the war effort.

7. Microsoft comes through for tsunami relief
As I am in Portland, OR, Microsoft is the closest geographically of these donors. When I went to their website to see how best to contact them, I was impressed to see that they have a very prominent plea for donations on their front page. The coporation has pledged $2 million dollars, and will match employee contributions to the tune of total expected donation $3.5 mil. Guess I can't argue with that.

Anyone have contact info for other donors?

8. Hmmmm... Microsoft has a reported $40 billion in cash reserves...
... so $2 million is what .005 of a percent of their cash reserves?

I have around $5000 in cash reserves. That means I can make a 25 cent donation and match Microsoft's generosity?

10. I totally understand what you're saying
But I do think we have to appreciate it when big companies do the right thing, even if they should do more.

11. The right thing would be giving 10% of their income to
charity, if we are to follow the "Good Book", that is.

9. Home Depot, eh?
Maybe someone should mention to the "Moral Elite" that Home Depot also banned the Salvation Army over the Holiday Season...
