Why does this really annoy me...
Bush and the rest of our politicians are now dancing the tsunami PR polka and asking the public to dig deep into their pockets to help survivors.

What irritates me is that these politicians are arriving late to the party long after the public already donated tons of $. We obviously don't need THEM to remind us of our humanitarian obligations before opening our wallets. Actually, it's been the other way around. The public shamed the politicians into action!

Am I right???

1. I don't think they're fooling anybody
But then again, I've learned when it comes to the gullibility of the American public, one can never be too cynical.

3. A few days ago, when it was announced * would "form a coalition" for aid
...my first thought was: "And every morning I go out and 'form a coalition' of people commuting to work'."

SOMEone has to take credit for it, right?

5. LMAO, JHB
The same thought occurred to me.

Yes, the American people are being manipulated again. The Administration is covering it's stingy butt by basically challenging our generous citizens to make up for it's shortfall. And yes, it pisses me off. Who doesn't see through this? Who?

4. First we get TAXED for war, then we're supposed to GIVE for relief
That's what pisses me off -- I don't want my tax dollars used for bombing Iraqis, only to have our Brainless Leader ask us to give even more ... to help save Indonesians. I don't want my giving to be viewed in ANY way as responsive to his request ... ASSHOLE!
